Nope the 15x7in Road Wheels are the widest they ever came. There is a place making up to 15x12in ones out of the original centers but I'd have to go looking over at www.v8buick.com to find it. I believe both Stockton Wheel and Wheel Vintiques can widen stock steel wheels, even change the diameter if you really want to mess with it. I thought about getting a set of those Buick Road Wheels remade in 17x7 for my Riviera but have decided to go with aftermarket aluminum wheels at the cost and not sure they would look right going another 1in in the centers.

Randal, there is a company called Stockton Wheel, in all places, Stockton, Ca. They are an old established company that does great work for widening your wheels...see them at stocktonwheel.com ...now burn up them tires!

Thanks for the info. Eventually I see myself getting a second set of rims for the car, one set for daily driving BFG's and another set with stickier/higher speed rating tires, but haven't given much thought as to what I'd want for the look as well. Not sure if having 5x5 pattern is doing me any favors either :P But it got me bigger brakes all the way around with bigger studs ;D

It complicates things. Since I'm going to have to go with adapters anyway I've seriously considered getting a 5x5in to 5x4.75in adapter instead to leverage more wheels but right now it looks like combining a 73-99 C1500 wheel with a 1-1/8-1-1/4in adapter will work for me but I can't run a wheel with more than 3-3/8in backspacing or it'll rub.

In case the other one doesn't work out.... these guys are good (and if I keep my eyes open I may get you those wheels for cheap - blems)..

Also, 295/50-15 fits on an 15x8" wheel - it's what's on my Buick

Seth, I cursed you yesterday while wire wheeling the rear axle and I cursed you again today for wire wheeling the small stuff! :P Everything used to be good enough to just put back on, now I got to clean it :'( ;) I haven't commented on it, but nice work going on the Malibu, I've been following the thread.

But....I doesn't make my ears ring for hours like the wire wheel... ;D

Garbage goes in, new parts come out ready for paint... even worse when you bead blast aluminum... it comes out looking beautiful.

I have dreams about rotary screw compressors.

When I build a shop next summer a BIG air compressor is in the plans and with that I hope to have an area set out for sand blasting ;D I look forward to that, because then I start trying my hand at body work :o

If this is what you get done with a dirt driveway, I shudder to think what you'll accomplish with a roof and a concrete floor.

Hauling wood? I know people who know people who know people that can supply me with a good stock of wood ;)

I laid out the exhaust, it should be interesting getting it installed. Seems that the kit is designed for full length headers with the collectors parallel to the ground, hmm. I think I'll really get to work on it tomorrow, the snow is almost melted completely off the roof of the car port so maybe, just maybe I won't have a river running under the car with with me tomorrow. I also dropped the drive shaft off to be shortened by a bit over an inch and the collectors off at the same place to have the 2.5" connectors I bought welded too them so they'll slide right onto the Exhaust kit. Does anyone know if 2.5" flexible exhaust tubing is available? The local autoparts store is looking into it but the largest they have is 2".

Much prettier and looks much more effecient than the 2" single exhaust I had on there last year (above)

I think I'll roll the car back a foot or so and knock the snow off the hood and do some top end work on the car hooking everything up. Maybe even prime the oil system :o but first I have to install the oil pump.
