I'll raise you one better. The Buick Grand National cam sensor will drop right into the 455 with just a gear swap. I've just been too cheap to buy one. If this points thing doesn't work out I'll probably plunk down the cash for one.

    Escaped on a technicality.

The 99-06 Jeep 4.0 cam sensor is like a distributor with its top cutoff and it has a half moon style sensor in it. It has a gear and the blade for the pump drive but I am sure the spacing for all that is wrong. On my small block mopar I am going to try it out though and see if I can adapt it as the blade will plug into my oil pump drive gear(not attached to the dizzy on an SBM)

That made little sense typed out sorry haha.

Our company makes those for our industrial engines. For BBC's !! Unfortunately we don't sell them.

I've gone through most of this build. WOW.

Hopefully the points type distributor works for your cam position sensor.

That grand national deal looks like the ticket, I am sure it comes with a grand national price tag though lol.

I'm surprised that you don't just make one out of stone! (A little Geologist humor there......)

I still haven't swapped the distributor out yet. I've been driving the car to work and haven't wanted to unintentionally down it if my modified points distributor doesn't work right away. Part of the plan is to switch the cam input from the VR input to a digital input and then wire in the old cam VR input to the VR vehicle speed sensor at the rear of the TKO-600 and then have an accurate digital speedometer. Then I would also be able to datalog the speed and possibly which gear I am in (back calculated from engine rpm and speed). I'm contemplating doing a trial run at running the fuel tank sending unit to the MegaSquirt and trying a digital fuel gauge. That would set me up for possibly going to a full digital dash cluster.

Ordered some classic BFG TA Radial's for the car yesterday. Should be in this week. Going white lettering out this time.

When I put the Michelins on Truck the tire kid was amazed that I wanted the white letters out. Finally the kids says "Oh, old school! I get it!". I wanted to poop in his shoes. Damn whippersnapper.

Yeah the price has gone up. It was about $550 after taxes, mounting, balancing and disposal of the old four tires.
