Bob, the process is very manual right now. Just leave a post on the forum thread and the map is updated when Adam can get to it. I'm trying to see if I can help update it.

I forgot that there is this kid a couple blocks from me that has a totally customized 52 Chevy coupe. I think he said it's running a 350 Olds. Also, just yesterday noticed another guy working on a pair of bathtub era Corvair's 61 or 62? One coupe and a convertible.

Re: Car Junkies in the neighborhood

all my buddies have cool cars but i am the only one into old cars no one else in my complex has one and mine gets parked in front of my door every day, a lot of people stop and talk to me when im outside working on it.

the socal scene is full of old hot rods and muscle cars so to say im a lone wolf would be incorrect because all i have to do is drive down the street and you can almost guarantee to see a nice ride.

the exception to this is that chad lives maybe 10 miles from me.

Re: Car Junkies in the neighborhood

I live about 5 miles from NARider's dad - the guy with the beautiful 2 tone brown '35 Ford. We always SAY we'll get together but never seem to. There's a few other folks, but so far no one that I feel like I can call up to lend a hand. Terry (here on the board) has been super and has come over a couple of times, but it's a pretty good drive for him so I hate to ask (and he's building his own junk). If my next door neighbor is home, he's usually willing to pitch in but he has projects of his own so I hate to ask. So mostly, I chug along on my own. I have a hoist, shop crane, and other tools to make it possible for an old fart like me to get stuff done alone. I'm learning to change procedures to make this work, too - like using the cherry picker to put the head on the Camaro. I'm more than happy to help others, too, but again, no one has called.

There's a pretty good street cruising scene here in Wilmington, but I haven't really pursued hooking up with any of the folks. They seem really friendly at their shows, though.

                    Dan

they do alot of stuff at e-town and have a number of members in NJ. I can find out more info if you want.
Antmnte - thanks reaching out. I should try to be more open minded. The few times I have met GONE members their interest seemed to be largely limited to the 04-06 Goat where as I consider myself more open to the other makes. Also no interest was expressed from GONE when I posted going to the 07 & 08 Power Tours on LS1GTO.com. But you are correct I should reach out again.

races an 04 that hangs with them . I can put you in touch with him. Hes down there all the time (at e-town) and has a few other cars as well. Just let me know.

I am the junkie on this street anyway. This is a hunting/football town. That takes up 3 months of the year and the rest of the year they talk about both of them. Not many people here are into hot rodding, and the ones my age and older that used to be don't seem to care anymore. I catch all kinds of heck for having 4 vehicles and being outside tinkering on them and washing them. What a town we have here!

Well.....I know of 3 others in the neighborhood(including the guy with the green Topolino), but don't actually "know" them.

SpeedJunkee lives about 5 miles from me......of course, the Big Go is in town this weekend, I could say I'm amongst the biggest concentration of Car Junkies to be found on the planet(for the moment).
