There is also a guy down my street who built a fiberglass split window corvette about 2 years ago. But he sold it and now has a Prowler. Seems like a huge downgrade to me.

Well, I guess I am getting luckier since the Chevelle came around....My next door neighbor works for Ford and has a K5 Blazer with a 13.5/1 cr 406 sbc and a third gen camaro that is rotting in the garage...2 doors down is an A-body Aficionado who is currently restoring a 70' Buick GSX 455 Stage 1....and about a mile away is the Store manager of the Autozone who has graciously volunteered his fully stocked shop and expertise...He also has quite a few rides.

      No island here.

Re: Car Junkies in the neighborhood

I see some cool cars around town every now and then, but as far as neighbors are concerned I'm on the island. I'm moving, so I'll have to see if the new neighbors are into the life. Anyway, time to put myself on the members map - maybe someone on the board lives not to far from me!

I don't know. I tend to live on the island I guess. There are lots of people into hot rods and stuff in Bakersfield though. Most seem to be afraid to drive their stuff though. Mostly people just drive around in their lifted Chevies and bling bling SUVs.

I ran into Rebeldryver at the tire shop last month in Culver City. I thought the title of this thread meant other CarJunkieTV members on this board in your neighborhood. Not just people into cars.

There seem to be a few were I live in Simi Valley. I see all kinds of cars driving by my house. Camaros, Mustangs, Firebird, Mopars. Kids with late model stuff too. The owner of Milodon drives by taking his kids to school. Says I need to work on my cars. Troy from Westoaks Mopar Performance lives close. At least a couple of magazine editors live around town here too; Mr Tann, Mr Breeding, and Mr Pitt.

And the constant stream of loud obnoxious store bought Harley's in front of my house lasts all weekend. : After a while it's like: I get it, it sounds like a Harley. >

Wish there was a Car Cruise-In here in Simi Valley. I've only lived here a few years, but it sounds like they have had them in the past. Maybe too many high school dorks???

Antmnte - thanks reaching out. I should try to be more open minded. The few times I have met GONE members their interest seemed to be largely limited to the 04-06 Goat where as I consider myself more open to the other makes. Also no interest was expressed from GONE when I posted going to the 07 & 08 Power Tours on LS1GTO.com. But you are correct I should reach out again.
