The official Bangshift garage door guru. Just about anything can be built using garage door parts, trust me.

What's wrong with tractor pulling? Local farm just had the garden class pulls yesterday. I'm going to check out the trucks and heavy tractors today.

ok here she is brand new and improved.

everything that is primer will be new holland yellow,
before i set the engine i tore off the bottom case, removed the govonor assy, and ground the sides of th connecting rod cap, just for added clerance, i also swapped out a 10.5 hp head and sanded that down alittle in place of the 12.5 head. the front axle is at a max width of 40 inches side wall to side wall, the engine is sideways lifted and pushed back as far as possible to transfer weight, and to fit the battery in front of it. no more key switch, only push start and tether kill for electronics. also removed the charging system under the flywheel to much drag, and to top it off i put a 12.0 hp hood on it. lol

here is the completely redesigned clutch and pulley system,

Peerless gearbox in the back? 5 Speed? (Total geek here)

Do you actually shift during the race or is it high gear only?

The red tractor in the background has probably pissed itself in fear of ending up like your racer.

"Oh GOD! Did you just see what he did with the torch!"

                ;D

no actually i adapted a dana spicer model 2000 to fit, it is a 5 speed, generally i start in 2nd gear. there are 2 practice laps then we go green in that last lap as i round the last corner i throw it up to 4th usually, depends on the track, mainly i dont want to overload the engine for the speed. the red tractor in the back is mad cause it just burnt a valve, and cant mow the lawn, it was the lawn mowing tractor, it would be more scared about what i did with the welder and hammer. It was really scared when it seen what i did with the old one cause i was mad and need some of the parts, hehe

Hey 70.5camaro I like your set up, mind is almost the same. Just changed pulleys, been trying to work out the clutch before I blew the trans (same as yours) I may try some of your ideas. Also I just mocked up the Dragtor (Hot Wheels name) I put some pic up soon!

Back in the 70's we would Cone race down the street, and ride wheelies with Lawn Mowers. To this day, I should not be aloud on a Mower.

i actually had to redo my front axle today, the officials came by the house and told me that the axle had to be a solid piece. cant be two seperate pieces, so i torched it out, and replaced it with rectangle stock, 2 x 4 x 1/8 then i just refabbed the axles and tie rods, pictures to follow, it was too dark to take them tonight.
