Super cool truck! Chain drive FTW! Every link is a master link!

My grandfather is really into Macks, used to haul cement with a B-model back in the day. I'll have to show him the pic, he'll like that. There are (I think) 2 B-models in the rear pic right after the chain drive pic. They are across the row, between the guys and the truck.
    Still plays with trucks....

Yeah, but what do the other 4 wires go to? Only 4 go to the dist. cap.
I'm pretty sure the engine has a dual ignition system. One set is a conventional ignition system the is a magneto because early ignition systems are horribly unreliable so they were almost only to get the engine started then the magneto took over.

The official Bangshift garage door guru. Just about anything can be built using garage door parts, trust me.

            Dogs on chains...LOL

Tough old trucks, too bad the new Granite and Vision series trucks are pure junk...an affront to the Mack name.

What year was the Brockway that was parked next to it?

Trying to figure out the purpose of the scissor-lift dump bed on the last bulldog pictured here(coal chute?)

V-12 KW? I've seen a few of those before, there's a few picture over at www.largecarmag.com.....buzzin' dozen!

              Hey Bro,

I'm guessing a coal truck as well. Most of the stuff I have seen with that setup on it were for coal.

I wrote a feature on a drag racer for Drag Racing Action about a year ago who had worked at Mack for his whole life in the engine division. He was getting ready for his area to be shut down because everything was going to be Volvo powered from now on and they didn't need a supervisor in the camshaft area when they weren't going to be building motors anymore. Sucks.

He was OK with it because he was retiring age, but there was some definite strain in his voice when he mentioned the Volvo deal.

Re: 1920 Mack Truck They don't build them like this anymore!

I'd imagine so...the Volvo/Renault engines are pure shit.

Cam followers crapping out at less than 60K, progressive damage from hell, Mack/Volvo doesn't want to stand behind them...but I digress.

I look at the black C-cab, and I see a wild hot-rod Bulldog...

The cab, hood and bed on a tube frame, low to the ground.....modern rolling stock(maybe 22.5's on 285-series rubber...low stuff).

All powered by the baddest Mack engine ever built...their massive V-8 from the old Superliners(and a few shoved between the framerails of some lucky CL's).....tire-burning SOB's.

Woah.....That is some torque. Didn't even look like the truck was straining. :o

That is a lot of power.

Must be fun having to drive that for more then 5 minutes. The rear tires look like what, 30 series profiles? *G*
