Gearbox of life?

No problem I got that. Watching videos of guys driving truck with this transmission combo blows my mind! I had a hard time between driving my 3spd Patrol, 4spd Formula and 5 spd Metro. No way could I row gears in one of these!

Back in my Super Truck Driving Days....
Most Famous was the "Two Stick" gearboxes, a Front Box and a Back Box.
SO you had multiple combinations depending on the Two, and the ratio's of each. 4x3, 4x4, 5x3 or 4......
And for Shits and Giggles through in a 2 Speed Rear Axle......
These were all to get the Old Diesels with a Torque Band of 1,800 to 2,100 RPM and had 220 HP, to pull large loads out west or construction grades. (Or make a Detroit 238 look like a Real Truck !!)
The only vehicles with Wonky Shift Patterns were some military surplus vehicles I drove that were "On Site" trucks.

I drove an old cabover Pete with the two stick setup. Made it really hard to hold a cup of Joe.........

I smoked, but it was pre-CB timewise. We still used lights for signalling and waving log books out the window as a warning......LOL.

Pace lap for the 1967 Daytona 24 Hour race, from the Ford Media Archives. A Ford GT 40 Ford and a Chaparral are out front, but this was Enzo Ferrari’s revenge race after the Ford GT’s had dominated and embarrassed him the previous year. The Ferrari number 23 in the second row won and Ferraris finished 1-2-3. It was a temporary setback for the Fords as they tried to improve the GT but only made it heavier. Later the Fords got back to their winning ways.
