I rolled the trans under the car, positioned it and rested it on a couple of bricks. Then I lowered the car. Jack under trans up we go.......not quite far enough, I´m too low by half an inch. So I get some wood, hammer one end (Subtle..eh?) to make a wedge and force it under the trans raising it up. Trans slid nicely into place, I gasped in surprise....gasp....like that.

I assume that this locomotive chassis dyno facility is long gone. However, the train museum in Mulhouse, France (Cité du Train) has a nicely detailed exhibit documenting the dyno facility. The exhibit includes an 8 foot long scale model of the chassis dyno. I took some pictures of the model.
