Relapsing old trucker... or just coming to terms with roads little truckers made songs about.

    2015, no miles. 550hp, dual locker, 18 speed..3.9 final. 46k rear, 13k front.
    120mph loaded should be doable.

Stiney... You sure? Thought rear wheels were kinda small, but that is how to get "gears" with FWD cars..
You guys probably can hear the difference,. Isn't there a pulley turning by the back wheel?
Doesn't look anything Volkswaggony unless it id the new bug motor?

Positive. Not a single VW item on there.

Looks like a crotch-rocket powerplant dropping by belt to a fabbed cv-jointed independent rear suspension.

These are referred to as "mini-buggies" in the industry. Most have no reverse.....we drag a lot of them out of holes they make at SilverLake.

Here is an image of that style rear suspension. And on a rather more nicely fabricated machine, if I dare say so.

that reverse thing is a bitch... has kept my Sportster engine in it's frame for years. I refuse to drop 1500.00 for a reverser ... although I've been doing some serious thinking about AC Delco generator/starters. That's how the old EZ-GO two stroke's worked. Starter was the generator too, which is neat, but the neatest thing was being able to reverse poles and it would spin that two stroke backwards. Putting it in "reverse" moved the timing plate to where the engine would run backwards for reverse. Beauty of a two stroke! Only problem is, that's a 8 or 9 hp two stroke in a 600 pound golf cart or buggy, and conventional wisdom says it needs about 60 or more, right?

What I was thinking about was just letting the starter pull it in reverse. I'm not sure, but I think that's how the Goldwings do it. A couple of horsepower starter motor might work by itself using a one way clutch/bearing and a crawler ratio? I don't want it spinning the starter all the time although it wouldn't hurt anything if it was a starter/generator?

Oh. Sorry. Back to the air-cooled pancake motor.

wait wait wait - I just watched the video after looking at the picture Stiney posted and holy shit, did the guy expect any different outcome? He couldn't find a higher attachment point so it would flip even quicker? Damn, man, that's 7th grade geometry right there!! FAIL. Idiot.

Good lord, use the car trailer winch with a tackle block or two. Dad has a tripod made of landscape timbers with a 40.00 comealong that would remove said shrub with minimal effort... but that's not our guy's style, right? Has to be motorized? Maybe he should have attached it to the axle for some real fun.

oh yeah again, sorry... it's the Pic of the Day. Here's a pic for our internet hero! Maybe he can get through Pulley math 101 and figure it's mechanical advantage?

forgot why I came to this thread... I know it's a video but this guy has a good grip on gravity. Maybe he can help the guy above with the physics/geometry issue. Old guy for the Win!

Didn't think to do a screen shot and enlarge.. Can see the bike motor now..
There are a few buggys around here that are FWD made into RWD and use smaller tires for deeper gears.
I was pretty positive there was no Veewee parts there..
There are a few buggys with the Ford 2000/2300 on vw transaxles too but those sit inline with the chassis..

The new style pete..always assume a little economical diesel engine, surrounded by nerdy "aerodynamics"...when its 550hp passes by.
made in texas..should have guessed it.

Another chapter in 40 years of trucking.

the poor blacks are forced to one side of the driveway.

2015, 128 miles on the odom. LSX 15 cummins. 912 cubic inches. 550 hp. LED lights everywhere. It seems tractor trailers are doing the same chore list as my old gmc.

the kw is being turned in with 850,000 miles, needing a head refreshed.

being hardly prejudice, I joke. It is good medicine. I bet my old gmc is known as slow, like a 6.4mpg nerdy looking peterbilt.

                        A shame to underestimate.
LSX = ISX. I got too many engines in my head..or is that too much air.
