I thought DF said we aren't supposed to mention BJ here ?
You guys are doing fine here. It's not BJ in particular, but auctions in general.
Like I've written, guys pay a million bucks for a car not so that they can have the car, but so that they can be the guy who spent a million dollars on it. Jagoffs.
I go to the Pure Stock Muscle Car Drags every year in Stanton, MI. I love watching guys drag race cars nicer than most of what your going to see at that TV show. They know what to do with Muscle Cars. Every year I watch dads and grand dads taking their kids around the pits showing them what's hip. I love hearing the questions the kids ask about the cars. When I'm shooting them on the track, I'll glance over at the crowd and see the faces of kids wondering why cars are so different now. It's a much better way to see Muscle Cars than watching a bunch of rich guys fight over them.

Nice Pair!
BJ is without a doubt a circus of fools........ That's why it has such good TV ratings. BUT, since everything is no reserve, sometimes it's possible to get a deal. They don't show the "off hours" auctions where occaisionally a seller takes the salamie in the rear. Sorta the rich guy version of Pinks..... but both people lose.

I find it amazing these rich mooks can shell out world record prices without knowing much about the car they are buying. They take the auctioneers word (sellers) at face value.
Being "The only one of it's kind" is a sure way to get the giant bucks. It's worked in the recent past even though a few seconds on Google will tell you there are several others you could buy. http://www.futurliner.com/index.html
I dont like it either, but we found a way to use it.
We get together with Beer n BBQ . We pick a car, we all make a wager and the closest to the price wins.
Hell, its the only way I'll ever make money there!

Thanks to the big BJ I cant afford another muscle car.
Roger that!
Every one with an older car...or one with lower production numbers
(maybe the reason for the low numbers is no one wanted them new)
or whatever...after seeing Barrett-Jackson a few times...starts to believe
"Ol' Jenny" sittin' out back is going to be their old-age retirement plan.
Had a fellow tell me in pure earnestness about his '59 Chevy Bel Air 4-dr
w/PG & 6 cyl...he was a plumber who got a call last winter from an elderly
widow with frozen pipes...the '59 was in her basement garage...one-owner
with 112K miles...he swapped the repair labor & materials for the car...
and said with every confidence: "That car will be worth 100K in another
10-15 years!"...that's just one of a 100-stories of people I've encountered
w/BJDS...Barrett-Jackson Delusional Syndrome.
ls7gto is right.I throw a party and try to guess what idiot has to go home and say "Honey I spent $$$$ on a car I wont drive."P.T. Barnum I beleive said " A fool is born every minute" and BJ proves that.
