    lawn mower engine

I am looking for a 14.5 hp briggs mower engine for my mtd, i burnt a valve in mine i think, still runs no power under a load. thinking maybe i can get out of it cheaper just getting a used one instead of rebuilding that one being that i think i would end up boring it out and milling the head and putting bigger valves in it. yes i know its only my lawn mower but I know i would do it. i think that i am going to try to limp out the rest of the season with it the way it is and then tear into it this winter.

problem being I know that it is a replaced cover, so the numbers dont mean squat, I am pretty sure any vertical shaft 14.5 should work , or i can make work. thanks

Check harbor freight, I was in there today and they have a big selection of small engines. There was a 16 hp single cylinder, although it was horizontal shaft, for $299. There online catalog show alot more.
