Actually, I had to fill it up because I needed to get home again. ;)
But the car didn't help driving 'fuel efficient' either because the engine had a bad sparkplug-wire which made it run on 7 cylinders at times.
This did however improve 'safety', because driving on soaking wet roads with elcheapo 275 "General" tires, limitedslip 3.9 gears and 500" of torqy power doesn't do well for traction.
i bought my 57 last year when i picked it up the guy tells me " don't know if you know this but gas turns to powder when it gets old""so i filled the tank after i replaced it in '74 so it should be good "lol so i got a tank of 1974's finest at todays price in this guys eyes it would be gold
Well, I've found a 'cure' for that... "Multiple Cars" ;)
Just make sure you have more than a couple of cars to drive around in.
When one car almost runs out of gas, just get another one.
At the moment, I have 3 drivable Mopars, so I can also drive three times as much, before I have to stop for gas.
