If you get an Intrigue, don't get the "Shortstar" V-6, they are crap.
    Otherwise, nice car.

Ironically that is the very reason I'm interested in them... however I see the reliablity ratings. Why do I always get interested in the odd stuff like the shortstar and the Contour....

        Don't know bro.

I can tell you, stay away from that motor, it will break the bank.
        I promise.

I see many in the lease returns.

Many oil leaks, from the case halves, head gaskets.
            Lots of drivabilty issues, too.

I'm also not a fan of the Northstar, for many of the same reasons, though not as numerous.

I know Spidey hates the Buick 3800, which has a better tuning base so I bet it would be a better idea since I could tweak it for efficiency with my HPTuners.

The 3800, series 2 and 3 are sweethearts,
Keep em clean, in and out(change the oil and coolant religiously), tune em up,
                they last a long time.

Re: Drag Cars With Wrong Wheel Drive

I´ve had more front wheel drivers than rear and on the street they are pretty good,
but to set one up for drag racing you have to eliminate the natural consequenses of
launching a car from a dead stop and that´s weight transfer.
Any weight transfer these cars have unloads the slicks at the front, so they have to eliminate
it over the length of the car and have it happen within the length of the short drivetrain.
Not to take away from them the technology involved to do what they do but it seems to me they
                  start off with a disadvantge.

We don't hate them. Don't we all try to do the quarter as quick as possible with
                    the vehicle we have?
But I'm pretty sure if you put the same engine in a RWD with same weight you'll be quicker.
                    Just a matter of physics.
You might change gearbox and drive backwards.

Give it a try over the weekend ;D and let us all know,

Actually, I know how it does. Buddy of mine in Ft Wayne, IN has an 86 Cutlass with basically the same engine I have, and he runs 12.3's all day long. RWD is king in the 1320 for sure, but don't count us out on the open road with the rest of the heard. That's all I'm sayin'. ;) ;D

I'm sure there's a perfectly good reason to run fwd, I just haven't figured out yet what it could possibly be.

                            Doing doughnuts in reverse?  ;D

Better yet, record video of doing burnouts in reverse, then play it backward. hmmmm. I have a Cobalt.......Would that be allowed in Burnout Monday? No.......she'd kill me if I did that to the Cobalt.

That being said, I've seen a few wrong-wheel drivers that impressed the hell out of me.
