    talking with the wife and....Considering a T-Bucket

I got the nod to buy another car...now here is the thing...I will have about 6 grand to spend around January time frame.....not a ton but I think I should be able to find something that I want thats a bit nicer than the old Fury...Not to say I dont love the car...I do...Its a blast to drive and is just friggin cool IMO.....And I most likely will keep it...

Anyway....this what I am thinking...I want a hot rod, I want a convertable, I want something thats going to be fun to drive....so this is what I am going to be looking for...or something like it...I may try to find a roller and/or someones unfinished project..so...keep me in mind if you guys are out and about and come across a dirt cheep T-Bucket round about January....

Cool stuff man. As far as the whole thing goes about talking it over with the wife, I totally feel that. I don't think I will try to build another one. Probably just buy one mostly done. Time with family makes it hard to spend time in the garage. Still fun to drive something cool though.

I'll keep you in mind if I see anything, but I really haven't seen anything like that that's well done and close to driveable for anywhere near that price.

This little roadster will be coming up for sale this winter. I believe he is asking $8,000. It runs flawlessly. Has been together since summer of 2004 I believe. I've got many, many seat miles in it myself. If you're interested let me know and I'll hook you up with the owner.

Jim, a roller/unfinished project would be fine too, I will do the engine/trans/interior myself (if its a chrysler product I have a good engine and trans already)...I am in no big hurry so that will allow me to scrape together a bit more money and plan a little better than I did with the Fury.....

HRLC, I will let you know, thanks!

I'd recommend driving one before committing. Buckets can look very cool, but you sort of sit on top of them rather than in them, and performance wise, they don't really do anything well, other than sideways smoky burnouts. But as long as you know that going in, they can be a riot. I vote for low-stance '50s style rather than Fad Tee '60s-'70s style. No brass, please. And I'd give big points for Mopar power.

Well, Joe, it's on your side of the USA, the price is close and you would definitely turn some heads with this one 8)

Re: talking with the wife and....Considering a T-Bucket

Like DF said, a traditional styled turtle deck T would be the way to go, vs. an actual T-Bucket. But it depends on what you find when you are ready to buy. Hit some swap meets, maybe you'll find something without a motor, and if they dragged it to a swap, chances are they're looking to get rid of it, and now. If you find the right car and don't care for the motor, ask the guy if he'd consider selling the car as a roller. If he's building another rod, that might be a way for him to further his project along as well.

                              So much better lines.......
