    0 to 5v revisited

the search does not return the 0 to 5v questions I had about an afr guage output.

found an actuator that can be used with 0 to 5 for an rc airplane. 100 to 1 ratio, can take a decent load..if not they make a 210 to 1 gear ratio to take an even bigger load..just slower by milliseconds.

half the post got deleted trying to quote..lets try this again.

    • 0–5 V Interface Mode: This mode allows the actuator to be controlled with just a battery and a potentiometer to signal the desired position to the actuator – a simple interface for prototypes or home automation projects.

I can program the gauge outputs of 0 to 5 to work with whatever the actuator wants to get what I want. Thinking of that giant choke on the monojet to be an extra throttler for stoich in realtime.
as factory 22.4 AFR is 5 volts, I could reverse it so choke shuts to gain fat, or partially close, whatever the tune works out to be.

    any opinions?

this may or may not be wrong -

I've observed that the A/F ratio doesn't change as fast as a thermal-actuated spring on the choke.
Doing it all wrong since 1966

I got the mtx-L all digital.
      freakish fast.
20ms what used to be half a second or more.

there is a graph comparing old uego that actually got me to buy it, I'll see if I can find it.

the other weird thing with the actuator..that mode for 0 to 5, it matches with no mods.
12mm a second for the actuator. I only need what appears to be 3/4 or 1 inch...it may be slow, but I have the choke pull very restricted to slow down.
I could maybe dual a function. off in the cold start, then switch on later...and keep it as a helper to make actuator faster, like a bridge in the middle..
      and ratio a bellcrank.
so 12mm a second could be the whole choke open or full closed.

modern gadget..nice to see a fast one someday.
another reality missing from my setup..
do you remember those valves in the end of air cleaners that ran by vacuum? I could resemble that as well, and leave choke out of it. I do not have one, but could make one easy enough.
I found that also allowed for deep pcv function or go easy..by opening or closing that air cleaner version.
I guess that makes up my mind if to try it. Just make a valve somewhere in the duct...leave choke as is.

      now to really think..
that was one of my ea82 that went into 160k miles before I liked it. The valve gave a shot of pcv if it went lean...safe keep.

      edit:
I am going to go ahead with that..
am making an air valve throttle blade looking thing right now out of a carb stud kit and a coffee cup lid.
install it in the steel duct and see how it does without buying actuator first, if it does what I am guessing, I'll go ahead with building it as an auto mode with actuator.
