James,
Nice Jensen Pics! Those headers are more than my skills would allow re: fitting and welding! Is the car an Interceptor or a CV8? I wasnt expecting it but the addition of a proper collector and a bit longer tubes really changed the sound and the performance of my car. I finally got a chance to tune it yesterday and the car was really responding. Too bad no one produces a good set of 1 3/4" headers for these cars for a reasonable price. You cant even buy a set of 2.5" through mufflers with the offset inlet and outlet to fit the original cage mounts. I had to fab my own out of a set of Dynomax stainless truck mufflers. Not sure why Im trying to keep things stock like at this point...

The only reason for equal length tubes and the nightmare of building them is to tune the engine to make the most power at a certain high rpm level, i.e. racing. No real gains to do so for the street car.
