Minneapolis, St Paul area. That'd be cool, but time may be short. My cousin has got a serious schedule set up. We'll see. I'd like to go see my cousin's kid's car. He's the only other gearhead in my entire family.
Spent the day fixing crap on the Caprice. The pass door window switch's wiring pulled out of it. Took apart the plug and put it all back together. Noticed the stereo speakers in the door were installed with wood screws and nothing else. No wonder they were falling out. A trip to the hardware store netted some speed nuts and sheet metal screws and now they are in really nice.
Next was to fix the rattling rear speakers (it's what I get for letting shop install them.) After pulling all the crap out of the trunk, I realized just how big it is. Damn, I could move in.
So this is what a trunk with no rust looks like. You can see the fan motor to the rear window defroster. Those black wire looking things on the wheel wells are the fiber optics for the rear light minders. I gotta figure out how to get them back in the tail lights.
I'm pissed at myself. Made a big mess out of the rear deck trying to remount the rear speakers from the top. Now I'm gonna be fixing more crap.
I hope that you do not end up selling this car, it is waaaay to nice to unload on some assclown that is gonna f-it up...maybe one of the good BS-ers here will buy it and give it a good home
If you can leave two black stripes from the exit of one corner to the braking zone of the next, you have enough horsepower. - Mark Donohue
Nightmares...a clown with the idea of 26 inchers..
NNNOOOOOOooooooooo.........
A clown with a 72 Caprice Convert 454 on 30's tried to buy it several months ago. I had to ask if he was going to do the same to my car. I drove away after getting my answer.
I'll be posting pics of the fiasco I created later tonight along with my attempt to fix it. It's iffy wether I'll succeed or just make a bigger mess.
