Steelies huh..???.I dont know..some old aluminium rims would look better in my opinion..or maybe steelies in grey or dark red.Black steelies i think will be too much black on your car..If it was gloss black,i would have said go for it,but satin black deserves wheels that stand out.

    But only my taste... ;)

      Re: Rebel(Dryver)'s Machines

I have to agree with BT. The Imp is too b lack to slap black steelies on it. If they're shiny they wouldn't match, and satin to match the body would look silly.

If you want something different I would go with something like slot mags, or Cragar S/S's. But just my opinion.

I couldn't put my finger on it, but I think Blazerteam about summed it up for me, it would be too much black. As I generally like the black steelie look. Red might be interesting. (Thanks Malc)
          Escaped on a technicality.

A set of the stamped steel 5 spoke Z28 wheels would look good on it-if you can find a set. As beautiful as those cars are there are very few wheels that actually work on them. Regular old 15 x 8 rally wheels always look great but not if they're painted black.

I have one early 70's Z-28 wheel. It's on the spare tire.

I like what you have there for sure - I suppose if you wanted a change to look at and absorb - you could swap wheels with your gold car and see what you thought about the rallyes?

I agree- red wheels and big white walls are both things that belong on pre war cars.... there was a newer S10 pick up at autorama done up with them and it just screamed WRONG.

I'm partial to torque thrusts on chrome bumper cars, but my second choice would either be autodrags or drag stars (the ones you have).

The car looks great the way it is. Especially the rake.

                      Are those 275s?

Those aren't Weld Drag Stars, they are Cragar Street Stars. Cheaper and heavier steel versions. Yes, those are 275's on the back.

I put the Quick Fuel carb back on yesterday and removed the stripped set screw out of the shifter ball. That's the third one I had to drill out. Sheesh. The Edelbrock needs some tuning to run real hard. I don't like accel. pump and it's lack of fuel. Also, the Edelbrock gets worse mpg. I'll have to work on that too. So I'll be running the Autocross on Saturday with Quick Fuel back on.

I ran the autocross four times today at the Goodguys show. (See the thread in General for pics and videos.) After all that and driving an hour back home my shifter gets jammed a lousy block from my house. It's stuck in first. I was too tired to fix it, so I said f*#@ it, I'll deal with it tomorrow.

While cleaning out files on the ole computer today I came across an old file of pics I took of the Impala back before it was black. I took all these in one day on either my digital camera or my really Nikon F.

These were taken at old gas station that is open sometimes out on Mulholland Hwy.

These two were taken right on the water on the PCH between Malibu and Pt Magu Naval Air Station.

This was on the roof of a local Pet Hospital just before sunset. Even though the sun was going down that concrete was still bloody hot to lie on in order to take these.
