I just looked at the replies and views to this thread. I am amazed and flattered by it's popularity considering it's about a Rust-O-Mod 65 Impala and a junkyard bought 70 Caprice. I don't know what to say.

                Face it-your junk's cool! ;D

At one time my driveway had a flat black '68 Biscayne hot rod and a shadow grey '70 454 Caprice coupe daily driver-I wish it still did.

I believe that car falls under F-ing expensive. Sweet car though. The only 65's worth that kind of dough have the L-72 425 hp 396 in them.

                      Re: Rebel(Dryver)'s Machines

I know, but the average 65 Impala sport coupe sells for 20000 to 40000 dollars here :.This one is a low milage one that has been modified some years ago with a lot of better suspension parts and it packs a healthy 350 engine also now i see.

But my guess is that he must sell it for less, because the dollar are weak now,and a lot of cars are imported from US and pressing the prices.

A 425 hp 396 Impala in really good condition i guess will sell for like 70-100000 dollars here...There are of course freight and taxes involved.

Those prices are about double what those cars sell for here in the states. An SS coupe in good condition tops about at $25K and a convertible about $40K.

It's no wonder why I always meet guys from Scandanavian countries every time I go to the swap meets. With those prices it's cheaper to fly here and have them shipped back.

I can't believe I got another letter printed. This time in the Sept 08 issue of Chevy Hi Performance. Henry D. was asking for ideas for a CHP signature event like CC's Anti-Tour and HR's Power Tour. I wrote in an idea.

Here's the email. I'm too lazy to scan the damn mag. Henry edited part of it out for publication. Guess where.

                          Hey Henry.

I just read your editorial in the June 08 issue. I've
always wanted to do a combo weekend event. A road
track day then a drag strip day. Yes, I know there are
guys out there whose cars are more set up for one or
the other, but I just witnessed a drag race 66 Charger
run at Willow Springs open track day. No, it didn't go
round corners very well, but to see it do 130 mph at 7
grand down the straight away was pretty impressive.

I just went to the Goodguys event in Orange County
with the Car Craft crew on the Anti-Tour, then I ran
the Autocross. I had a blast. One other thing happened
there. Guys with cars that had no business on a road
course stepped up and ran. I guess the fun was
                          contagious.

My plan would be to run at Willow Springs one day,
then pop up to Famoso for some straight line fun the
next. Simple, easy, and not major miles put on the
car. You can call it Road and Track. I know a certain
publication who might have some copyright issues with
                          that name, but who cares.

Whats happening now,is that a lot of people buy cars in the US .They wont pay the prices the sellers here want. And then when times go bad as they do from time to time, the market is full of cars that so few can buy.And then the price falls.Seen it before.

There are few cars selling at these prices.
