I think I remember you having a few sound files of your engine, and it really sounded good. I haven't checked the vacuum, but it can't be much with all that overlap. I believe the cam has over 70 degrees of overlap.Originally posted by Scott Liggett View PostI dont have 1.6 rockers and no it does not idles stock. Though I keep it at 1000 rpm, so its not real choppy. Everyone compliments me on how it sounds. Not sure why it would sound stock with the valve overlap. What kind of vacuum are you pulling?
I have the idle on mine set at between 900-1000 rpm.sigpic

At that rpm, my car pulls 13-15 hg in depending on air density and isnt very lopey. At 800, there is a definite lope.Originally posted by Karberator View PostI think I remember you having a few sound files of your engine, and it really sounded good. One was from Napa. But, their quality and rep took a huge hit when they followed the MBA business model.of the last decade. The other from a local chain that dont have store fronts and cater mostly to mechanic shops. The kind of customers who dont put up with crap parts because means refixing cars free.
And, yes, my headlight switches were used more than the other average old car ownerBS'er formally known as Rebeldryver

Scott - do you adjust the brightness of your dash lights often?
If not - why not replace the problematic headlight switch with a heavy duty push/pull or toggle switch?
