Looks like it did more damage to the gilmer pulleys than can be touched up with a file. Have to order another set to fix it.

        That sucks.

But man, you should be proud of the progress....I have had my car for 7 years and have only managed to screw it up worse....

Proud indeed - the amount of work accomplished in the time frame is surely impressive - at least to this working stiff Neanderthal.

Bummer about those cool pulleys - but thankfully you're not also shopping for a hood, radiator, or any number of things that projectile could have damaged.
There's always something new to learn.

Nice job, the first ride is always an adventure.

Bummer on the pulleys, that had to hurt a bit.
            I'm still learning

Thanks! It's still got a long way to go to be done, but it's driveable now. I'll use it off and on for some of our club cruises, and events, and work on it as summer goes along.
All back together today with a better balancer. The water pump pulley is more cosmetic, but I still need to replace it once I find out from the supplier if I can buy just the one, and not the whole set.
It was better than it looked at first glance, and I was able to make a half round die to press out the dented spots on my 12 ton press, and touch it up with a file in the cog teeth. Can't even see any wiggle when it's running.
I wont be driving it much, if at all, so I'll still replace it when I find one, or a set cheap.

Awesome stance. Love the whole thing, nailed the look and its a driver to boot. Great job.

Where can I get one of those bushel-baskets of time? Or is it motivation? Either way, the quickness of the turnaround of the Futura is amazing.

                  Thanks for sharing!

Thanks Stiney! Sure isn't motivation, so must be time!

Next is the kitchen remodel! But lots of interior finishing, and cleaning/painting underside of body and chassis. I only cleaned and painted underneath where components bolted on, so I wouldn't have to remove them later to clean and paint. I like to drive as I build, so I can stay interested in the projects. In between cruises and club gatherings, I'll be doing little upgrades too.

and to think it was built under a tent - a Flying Circus tent? Daaaaaannnnnggggggg.

It turned out great, nice job! Do the rears hit the fenders on the street?

Yep the good old Costco circus tent where the Austin was also built! Might have to upgrade to steel roof soon! It's falling apart from the sun!
The tires don't hit with small bumps, but if I hit anything big, or do a hard launch I'll have to air up the shocks in back. They don't raise it much, but they make the ride firm enough to avoid hitting the radius.

How is the handling and the ride? Have you ever ridden in one of these cars with stock suspension? If so, how does it compare?

Very curious because I can't seem to shake the idea of a straight axle under my '66 Mustang.
