If our route is US 78 between Memphis and Birmingham, in Tupelo, Mississippi there is the Elvis Presley Birthplace and Museum and The Tupelo Automobile Museum.

Elvis Presley’s birthplace, has so much to offer! Get close to bison at the Tupelo Buffalo Park & Zoo, visit the Natchez Trace Parkway, and more!

Try this link............second waterfall, Bridal Veil Falls. You can park your car behind the falls. Very pretty sight and is on Hwy 28 between Franklin and Highlands, NC. Depending on the route, this is a really scenic, fun drive. Sorry, no Hooters there
See photos and tips to waterfalls near Highlands and Cashiers in the North Carolina mountains, including Glen Falls, Cullasaja Falls, Dry Falls, Bridal Veil Falls, Cashiers Sliding Rock and Bust Your Butt Falls.

Lots of great stuff to see in Western NC, and some really fun roads to drive. Getting from Chattanooga into Zmax before 6:oo PM might be difficult. Traffic is horrible, especially on Friday's, due to construction on 85 & the 485 interchange.
Keep this in mind for the side trips.

When it gets closer I will list the routes I take during race traffic. They will get you really close with out major congestion.

Even with that, spending half the day sight seeing and trying to get to Charlotte will be tight. I can see doing the Dragon, but not Biltmore or Chimney Rock.

Touring the Parkway and that area should be a couple day event, possibly the Spring Tour would work better.

A couple of friends and I did a parkway tour one year and ended up at a great cruise night in Lenoir NC.

Lots of us are coming BACK towards Asheville and Knoxville.......I plan on a couple of side trips on the way back to Kansas!! Couldn't agree more about making it to CLT in a timely manner. I'm curious how much interstate the route will have that day.......

                                Directions to Zmax

The routes you take will have to be decided on from where you are coming from. If you come in the interstate from Ashville on 40 just hit 77south and get off at the Hwy 73 Huntersville exit and go into Concord then south on 49 straight to the track. This is mostley 4lanes interstate driving though.
                                Ashville NC

The last route will be the least interstate driving and some very nice scenery. There are some great little towns on this route. This is my area where I live.
