Yea, the guys with full weight cars, running good numbers are bad ass, even if they don't drive to and from. I know Jake and Jeff easily make 200 more HP than I do with the same or less cubic inch. It's another deal to be driving that kind of milage making the power it takes to get a heavy weight to run the numbers.
That mustang that Jeff mentioned is one hell of a car, had no idea he drove to and from.
In 2011 I got to run with Squirell all week, what an amazing experience to be cruising the two lane back roads with such an iconic car, doesn't get any better than a blown 55 that drove from AZ. for me.

Joey’s correct – we always drive to and from DragWeek. This year I left home Wednesday Sept 5th with 73,356 showing on the odometer, returned home to SoCal on Sept 18th with 77,910 showing on the clock – 4,454 total miles this year. Best times this year were 5 passes at 11.4 but without a rollbar so we could only use 11.5’s or higher – not bad for 4,800 pounds of truck.
Last year I put over 7,000 miles on the same truck. After our DD rainout on Friday I left Topeka headed for Seattle to attend my granddaughter’s wedding, then on home to Redlands. I’ve missed two years of DragWeek because of truck problems on the drive To DragWeek, and have completed three DragWeeks without problems – not a real good average, but way better than staying on the porch.
Hope to see you at DW2013.

The guy with the mustang trailered it to Tulsa if I remember correctly. But he did do the famous yellow bullet run from new Mexico to Florida while placing in two events and driving back in the snow lol.1968 Plymouth Barracuda Formula S 340 with a 360

I didn't know that was the same car that had the New Mexico to FL. thread on YB. That was a way cool deal.

Whew. It's a long haul from up here, but that drive would be epic! The 1400 miles itself is crazy, couldn't imagine 6000!1995 Camaro Z28, 440ci SB2.2, T56, 9" - 2011 Drag Week, 2nd Place BB/NA
