I got laid off 3 yrs ago @ 51,but i needed a vaction hadn't had one in 10 yrs.It was exactly 21 days after, i found another job with a RAISE an enjoy it. There is work out there, you may have to look at different occupation, don't be afraid to learn a NEW Skill. It takes a different approach to looking for employment these days, alot of searching can be done right on the internet.
Massilon is not far from Akron or Canton so i'm sure you;ll find something soon. Don't hesitate to ask for help,on where to look,GOOD PAYIN Jobs won't come looking for you,you have to find Them.

You and I think very much alike Eddie. This funny money party is going to have one helluva hangover. I am 47 and almost blind, disabled, and I see the whole world in big trouble. Does anyone read history any more? This 1928 all over again. Federal Mogul doesn't even make pistons here any more. I am not condemning the off shore parts, some are good, others are garbage. But we are seeing a whole generation of people who are losing the SKILLS that it takes to step up when another Pearl Harbor happens, substitute the culture of your choice, they are out there. I have worked on cars all of my life, before kindergarten. Most folks these days can't even change a tire. We as rodders have a duty to keep that part of the younger generation's brain alive at every opportunity. The jobs? I don't know what to say there. I used to make enough throwing 80-120 lb cases of beef and pork around for 12 hrs a day for 10 yrs and have my wife able to stay home with both of our kids on one income. Those days are gone gentleman, and our children are being raised in day care by Lord knows who.

Its up to us, we have to put our strength together and become the selfless society we once were. Funny money and $300,000 motor coach 401K retirees (whose 401Ks are rewarded by selling us off a piece at a time) going up and down the highway is not the way to do it.

When I go for my dirt nap, I'll be broke, and they can bury me face down so everyone can kiss my ass.

Thier saying recession, hell were in one now, I am saying were gona have another depression like in the 1920s.......I told all my Real Estate friends when they elected that piece of shit, you are gona see HELL If you vote for BUSH, now they don't say a word, just cry because homes are not selling, you know why thier is a large ammount of forclosures, let me tell you what I know......being in the the housing market for so many years, it use to be the rule, you had to have a down payment to purchase a home, the mortgage company wanted you to have a vested interest in that home so you did not walk away from the house payments, well when they started the loans, NO MONEY DOWN, I asked a mortgage friend, who is funding these No money down loans for these buyers with bad credit? He told me it was FOREIGN LENDERS out of the Arabic and Korean countries funding the loans.........They knew exactly what they were doing, now they are sitting back in those countries and laughing at our economy going in the shitter......People losing thier jobs, 80 percent of the homes that are selling are forclosures.....in our area....Gangs taking over, Murder everywhere in the streets, and you know what else, these forclosures are being bought up by foriegners on e-bay also, without even looking at the homes they are grabbing them up.......were all screwed.....My husband works at General Motors, he builds trucks, he is so pissed off, they opened a new truck plant in MEXICO, we were in a dealership to look at trucks the other day, he looked on the tags to see where the trucks were built, MEXICO, he told the salesperson, if you cannot find me a truck built in the USA, I will not buy it, we are boycotting any General motors vehicles built in Mexico, we finally found one built in Texas......when you go to buy a new car or truck, check the tags to see where it is built , do not buy the ones built in Mexico, where they are paying the workers 3 dollars an hour......

Okay, to start with you're blaming the wrong president for jobs going out of the country. Don't you all remember Ross Perot talking about the big sucking sound of jobs leaving the country if NAFTA was signed? That was everybodys favorite crim#^*l, I mean president, Clinton that signed that.

You're also blaming the wrong person for the housing market. Like Eddie said, the Federal Reserve controls the interest rate not the president. They kept the interest rates so low in the 90s that the banks kept lending more and more money because people could afford it. Everyone thought the economy was so great because they could borrow whatever they wanted. That caused the price of housing to go way up. The Fed decided to slow the economy and raised rates.

Predatory lenders and the Federal Reserve combined with NAFTA to ruin housing and the economy. Sorry, but you can't blame Bush.

I don't know about that. Who's spending money like a drunken sailor in Iraq because he couldn't find Bin Laden in Afkanistan? If Bush's dad would've finished Iraq/Hussain in '91 when we already had all our money over there, jr. would almost have to keep on track finding Bin Laden instead of starting another Viet Nam in Iraq. ####ing dumbass in my opinion. I didn't mean to make it Dem vs Rep. I was just trying to point out that there are alot of people to blame. Not just the people in office now. I think it comes down to greed and power. Give the poor just enough to keep them where they are. Take from the middle class because we bought into the American Dream and we're to busy just trying to live our lives. That leaves the rich paying the ones in power to get what they want.

I don't want to prolong this political bullshit. But, Since it's going on here, I'd like to add something. To me, it's not Rep. vs Dem. I think through the years, for the most part, they all suck the big one. That's why I don't vote. They've all seem to have some personal agenda other than helping those who elected them. #### em all, I'm done. Again, I'm a dumb mechanic. But, if officials got elected every year, instead of every 4, they'd be on their best behavior. My 2 cents. Now, back to our car program already in progress
