Unlimited, yeah, why didn't I think of that! Nobody but an unlimited would run a 'glass dash insert or aluminum door panels! Pffft. lol.

I'm just being cranky because I think it's too restrictive for the type of class it is being called. Lots of street cars run fiberglass parts. It's one of the first things I look at when I think about a new 'street' car. How can I lose weight.

Anyway, yah, good examples. Thanks guys.

Well.. I was considering some fiberglass inner fenders to replace my steel ones, but according to the rules (again).. it states specifically that only the bumpers and hood can be fiberglass, and the body, fenders, doors etc. be steel.

I want to run inner fenders (because it IS a street car after all), so it looks like at this point, the factory steel inners stay in place.
Of course, a lot of guys delete their inner fenders, and I suppose I could do the same, but I hate how it looks... running lightweight factory appearing inners, to me at least, keeps "the spirit of the rules" intact..

all this just to avoid building another "cookie cutter" Fox.. LOL

Yes but the "Class" is not about that kind of car. Its about Cruisers Crows Cuda, Jakes Chevelle, Full Bodied Friday night Muscle Cars. Its not a Race to see who can build the fastest gutted out car. Understand the Event an its easier to understand the classes and how they are set up and why.

This is interesting as a lot of street cars now have fancy carbon fiber inner fenders, radiator support plates etc. I suspect that fiber glass inner fenders might be viewed as cosmetic as well as maybe saving a pound or two at best, not to mention the issue of finding decent metal replacements for forty year-old rusted steel stuff.

Getting timely answers to questions posed to the HRM has spotty so you take your chances. I also have come to the veiw that most things will fly unless someone protests or is likely to protest which ionly seems to occur in situations where people are in contention for a class win. As a result the rules that are actively eneforced are those that are objectively measurable or obvious and that are related to cars that are winning or might win, otherwise nothing happens.

I dont see anyone complaining if they are replacement style at least. I hate I lost mine in the Big Wheelie, front tires blew right threw them. I found one good replacement and gave up after that

It's really no different than trying to glue them back on after she has her way.
