    September ECTA Results

    How did everyone do?

I'll kick it off with my results. Interesting comparison of aero vs HP - the other guy running in C/DT has a lot more HP than I have (big injectors, etc.) but mine is lowered front and rear (he just has his rear lowered). The two trucks run almost identical speeds. I bumped the record to 117.86xxx so I have a record for the meet. Didn't keep it as he came back and bumped me by 0.002 MPH!!! That's luck of the draw. I wasn't able to get any more and he later ran a 119 and change so I felt better about that. So I get a certificate for the meet but I don't get to have it over the Winter.

I don't expect to run the Dodge next year so I'm out of this one.

isn't there a Camaro hiding out there that just needs a harness? 1 wire dizzy, push button starter?

Y'all post it up! I keep threatening to go to Goliad, even if it's rumored to not be "as safe". I wish I were closer.

Let's just say that "something" is happening with the Camaro. More news to come at a later date.

I keep thinking I should make a trip to The Texas Mile, too (is it still in Goliad? I heard they moved). I have a brother in San Antonio so me and Texas have a history and I've had good times in the state. My understanding is that the track is fine but they don't tech as closely as ECTA and SCTA do and their tech requirements aren't as stringent. So if you got an ECTA or SCTA rule book and prepped your car accordingly you should be fine. Last I heard their shutdown area is shorter but at my speeds that's not an issue!

watch some Texas mile vids and notice the big bump at the end of first gear about. This is at the new Beeville track. Interesting.

You know I thought about running at Texas also, don't know what the records are there but if I could break one it would be neat to hold one at Maxton and two at Wilmington and possibly one at Texas, but Ilove the E.C.T.A. and made a lot of friends and This spring will be my last LSR then I will stick close to home and dragrace my truck and my Corvette. I ran my LSR truck two weeks ago and ran 14.80 in a 1/4 conversion table from a 1/8 mile track, not bad for a 5800 lb. truck with me in it!
