That was Brandan G. Finnegan didn't make it to SW this year. DF was there for just a couple days.Originally posted by DanStokes View PostMike - Welcome to the craziness.
BTW - were you the guy from HRM taking pics of the Hot Rod Top Speed Of The Meet trophy at the Impound trailer at Speed Week? Whoever that was, he was WORKING so I didn't take time for introductions but I was sitting in the trailer waiting for my next "customer".

What I don't get is why my wonderful husband has not defended himself against the van conversion accusaton. Maybe there are things he still keeps secret from me?!?That awkward moment when you realize it IS your circus and those ARE your monkeys!Comment

Yeah, we were kinda kidding about the van thing...I'm afraid that my thing of giving a stinky old motorhome a second life is about as bizarre as I get. Of course I have a partner-in-crime, on that one.Originally posted by LORENSWIFE View PostWhat I don't get is why my wonderful husband has not defended himself against the van conversion accusaton. Oh, which reminds me...
Hot Rod...those are Chevys?

In this article HOT ROD takes a look at how, like it or not, the '70s van customization craze never left some guys and custom vans are catching on again - Hot Rod Magazine
That's OK...somewhere in the CarJunkie-era archives of this site, there's a pic of my Challenger where somebody who should have known better said it had a 440...

No. The clue is, the big chrome valve covers with the plug holes in the middle. See pic at upper left, that's ten years old...Why anybody would've looked at that engine then called it a 440 is beyond me but of course we all pay a little attention at some times, and not so much at others. How somebody would also look at a Dodge van and call it a Chevy (twice), especially when they were from the era where that was important, is also a bit strange especially when there was supposed to be a guy who would catch that stuff.Originally posted by Deaf Bob View PostDid it?
Really, the point of this thread was, that one should be careful about setting out to expose "internet lies" and "the worst tech advice seen on the internet" when there are so many errors to be found everywhere, including at the accuser's own media.
Hey all...don't make me revive this mess again next month! You know I will....
