Just got off the phone with msd. Any time based function of the 7730 is based on power being removed from the blue wire. Power being applied to the blue wire resets the unit and readys it for the next run. So when I turn my arm switch on it puts power to the blue wire then when my micro switch comes on it trips a relay and removes power from the blue wire starting any time based function and the log.

Right......my point was you don't "have" to use the blue wire. You can turn it on or off based on RPM alone.
