Yeah it's tough to sue China. Once they've got the container on the boat, they're done with it. It's kinda a special deal we give them so that they can have a manufacturing industry and we can't. Hope they'll continue to sell to our army when things get dicey between us.

Sounds like a gas can would fix this problem.

Prove the first sentence - and I know you can't. Laws are the result of people crying to the media that "someone should do something"

As for what mr. shakespear said... it's funny how you don't know the first line of that statement. Maybe you can sue your teacher for not teaching you?

No free pass on this one, this was the result of a coordinated effort by the tort bar, trial lawyers intent on big personal paydays on specious legal grounds. It has been well documented most recently in the Wall Street Journal.

Because, the so-called American rule encourages them to, that's why we have all those TV ads for personal injury attorneys who gamble on cases looking for the bad damages which juries feel compelled to reward regardless of the fault of the user.

Other countries don't have this issue because the loser pays, bring a bs suit and it'll cost you. Is there a balance to be struck? Yes, but in my view the pendulum has swung too far. The US has developed a lottery mentality, something bad happens and it has to be someone else's fault and someone should pay big money. After all these companies have lots of money, who cares, right? Until they don't and this will continue until we get tort reform in this country, but be prepared to have to take on personal responsibility for your mistakes.
