I dont care for chamois all too much but I do really like micro-fiber towles, they soak up as much water as a chammy, they leave no lint and they dont have the icky feeling when they are wet...yes, I said icky...whats it to ya?If you can leave two black stripes from the exit of one corner to the braking zone of the next, you have enough horsepower. - Mark DonohueComment

I do the interior with a leaf blower sometimes, here in dirt-road-town things get so dusty, that works best. You can do up under the dash but I'm guessing that's why I couldn't get a CD player to last.
Then you use a garbage-picker-upper to retrieve all your receipts and stuff from down the driveway.
About chamois smearing, there is supposed to be a little oil in them. A tiny amount of wash-wax in the rinse water works well to help them last. With a chamois, if you didn't quite get a spot of dirt when you washed, it'll re-moisten it and lift it off. terrycloth doesn't do that.
These days any coin op car-wash will have a spot-free rinse, there ain't a trace of minerals in that water and you don't have to dry at all....Comment

there is a drive thru wash here for 3 bucks, never a spot afterwards. their spot free works well, then they have some blowers at the end...I will park under their sunshade use their vacuums for free and dry off whats left...all for 3 bucks...I use my air gun o nthe compressor at home if its real dusty inside...Originally posted by Loren View Post
