Does Locking Out an MSD Dizzy Affect Phasing?

I locked out my MSD 85561 Dizzy and I'm wondering if it affects rotor phasing without a timing controler, I'm just running a 6A box ? Seems when I rev it at idle lightly it responds fine but if I rev it quickly a bit higher up I can hear some light pop back, the sound that they usually make when the timing is off. When driving it there is no issue or pop back. I know the timing is correct so I'm wondering if the rotor is outta phase from the lock out??

Yes it can, to correct drill a hole in #1 on the cap in line with the tower then shine the timing light down the hole and see if it lines up. To fix if its off use the rotor you can adjust. Replace the cap or run the one with a hole just avoid water LOL I am not saying thats your issue just thats how you can correct it if its off

Window'd the cap and the phasing is rite on slightly leaded, so all is good and it seems time for a new set of NGKs to go with the new cap and rotor. Thanks

Thanks, Yah it's cool but window'd #1 and had to get in a real awkward position with the timing lite and my noggin to view.
