    cool hot rod (1953)

humble story. I could guess 70 in a quarter was fairly quick over an oem.
    mentions hot rod magazine too.

I thought it peculiar, the kid who was narrating ended up going for reliablity and focusing on a carb to be better.

That was fun. I was 6 years old when that came out and even a few years later many - perhaps most - adults though car guys like us were juvenile delinquents. Maybe they were right?

Assuming the kid narrating was 16, that would make him about 74 now. Old enough to be cussing at his grandkids for messing with fuel injection, and shaking his head at the basic econobox that's faster than his old hot rod ever was.

Kind of a kick seeing the old Indy car, with drum brakes.

Referencing my earlier post about juvenile delinquents - am I now a "senile delinquent"? And I know I'm not the only one...
