Bill, will the shirt fit over this jacket? If you can make a pass with the fire jacket, DW jacket, Hawaiian shirt, helmet, and hat strapped to the helmet it would probably be a drag racing first of some kind.
That which you manifest is before you.

Yes, it would be instant heat stroke unless I went up to Wisconsin or something to do it. And sadly I have some really large Hawiian shirts so its theoretically possible to become greatest dork ever.

Which means you HAVE to do it!
        Escaped on a technicality.

            Jeff,
We all know what the jacket means, but I am very shocked at all the drag race crowd I know that has no clue that DW even exists.....
Don't get me wrong the sponsors are the ones that keep it going, but at the same time it should have somewhere on the jacket "Class Winner" or something.
When was the last time you loooked at a throphy and it did not say winner or runner up? The jacket is a hard fought throphy against a week of abuse.

I or at least the croud I run with, could care less if the Drag Race Croud gets it, its not about the Jacket, if they have not went they have no clue the respect that goes with it from the people that have went and thats who counts. The Drag Croud will never get it, been proved over and over till they step up then they get it. Jeff Lutz is the prime example, he has learned the hard way, my hats off to him great guy when he gets his Jacket and he will much respect will be sent his way.

I am learning this, it takes a different type of thinking to race and drive your stuff to endure the week, most of the guys I know are either street cruisers or drag racers. DW is a little of both with a share of insanity thrown in. I like it!

Around my area there is a lack of fast cars that are normally driven on the street, of course we have the fast cars everyone calls street, but you never see them out other than a race or a very short drive to a cruise in.

It surprises me too how many people have no clue to what Drag Week is. I was back in the States again for a family vacation a few weeks ago and talked to various drag racers and speed shop guys and they had no clue. I expected that over here in Holland, but not in the States. Anyway, like already said, it's an awesome event and after tagging along all week this year, I really want to run it in the future. Just gotta work out what the best way is (car wise). I don't care if I get a jacket or not. It's all about the event to me and we had a blast all week this year.

Bill - much to the disgust of many of my co-workers - I wear a Hawaiian shirt every Friday - even in the winter - good to know I'm not the only one that embraces this marque of style. ;-)

Funny you say that. i did it for years when I worked at the corporate location of Cisco. Since becoming a home office guy the Friday Hawaiian shirt is practically formal wear.

my wife works from home - it's especially maddening when I come home from work in the winter and she's still in her flannel PJs and slippers. Atleast when she's home she can keep the wood stove glowing. I've negotiated for some work at home time - I used to work 9 9s' with every other Friday off. The new regime will not allow such things.

                                Great Job.
