He does not have to go through ShowLow, he can take the 277 out of Heber/Overgaurd to the 377 which will take him right to Holbrook and I40....... The 277 and 377 are two lane highways, pretty much flat and straight........Originally posted by BOOOGHAR View PostPhoenix is around 1,800 then its a hike to Payson which is 4,900 then up some more to Show Low and thats 6,400 and a gradual drop to Holbrook which is 5,000Last edited by TC; August 18, 2012, 11:56 AM.Comment

It is a great route to take, very scenic, and 80% divided 4 lane highway..... Check my previous post, you don't need to go to Show Low......Originally posted by Caveman Tony View PostThat sounds like a great route.
Scenic, near the Tonto Nat'l Forest.. what's the elevation through there?
HPA, I haven't nailed down a route plan yet, but was considering rolling through Eastern PA, but avoiding Philly traffic.
I am NOT driving through Jersey. Again. Ever. Unless someone pays me.
And Tony BEWARE, driving though that part of our state makes people want to move here!!!!.....

I was thinkin of grabbing one of those cheapo inverters... That reminds me, I have NO idea if the cigarette lighter has power.Originally posted by TheSilverBuick View Post
That list is pretty comprehensive. Maybe add an electric tire pump and make sure the truck has a power point or modify the pump to hook to the battery.Yes, I'm a CarJunkie... How many times would YOU rebuild the same engine before getting a crate motor?

Yuuuup.Originally posted by Blazerteam View PostDana 60 front axle,and 14 bolt rear..right?
BBC, granny iron 4-speed, and NP205 iron gear-driven (no wimpy-ass chain-drives here!) transfer case too.
Now all it needs is a radio. And a/c. And speakers. And a lift. And a winch. And... And... And... lol... a driver with a clue.Yes, I'm a CarJunkie... How many times would YOU rebuild the same engine before getting a crate motor?

haha, there is my problem. Right now it has 31" tires all around. Which is why I wanna avoid interstate 80mph-travel.Originally posted by Blazerteam View Post5,13 gears..what tires are you runnin?.If its this kind of geared,it should have at least 38 inch tires..or should

I am seriously considering throwing on a set of 37's on the rear and doing the trip "Hillbilly Pro-Street".Yes, I'm a CarJunkie... How many times would YOU rebuild the same engine before getting a crate motor?

.I had 36x16,5 inch tires on my K5,and it had only 2,5 inch lift..Never had problems wit rubbing on the highway..even 39 inch tires could fit...i think. But then, you will only see asphalt

yeah, it should work. I had 36's on my Blazer in '07 with no lift at all, and the rears only rubbed on the inner fenderwell at EXTREME angles while off-roading. This truck sits higher than that with stock springs too.
It's a long wheelbase, so the rake shouldn't be too bad, lol. But I will DEFINITELY get some funny looks.
TC, gear swapping would be the 'best' way, but I don't have the time/money to get that done in the short time I have to fly in, tune-up, pack, and roll out. Besides, I'm not gonna want to spend the money twice... I.e., again at the end of the trip to swap them back out.Yes, I'm a CarJunkie... And no joke here, but a 3,73 rear axle shouldnt get to hard to come by..and change. You could possibly sell it too, when coming home.Comment

I might just have a line on a 14-bolt semi-float... If its still there, its about 20 feet from where my truck is parked, lol.Originally posted by Blazerteam View PostAnd no joke here, but a 3,73 rear axle shouldnt get to hard to come by..and change. You could possibly sell it too, when coming home.
Can't remember what gears are in it, but anything better than 5.13s is worth a swap.
I do hate bleeding brakes though... yuk.Yes, I'm a CarJunkie... How many times would YOU rebuild the same engine before getting a crate motor?
