Yep, and whenever you care what someone else thinks, means your doing it wrong.

Jerky is great. That's my usual snack. I'm allergic to nuts or id eat them aswell, my cousin eat them nonstop. They're a lot cheaper than jerky

I'll look around and see if I can find a halfway decent pick from then and one from now.

On a side note, found a way to get more protein in my diet while cutting down on fatty snacks: grab a bag of beef jerky and substitute for chips or crackers.
Jerky is okay but remember, there is a ton of sodium in there, you have to drink a lot of water to keep from retaining it...

I drink over a gallon a day. I carry around a gallon jug because it is easier for me to track how much I am taking in.

Jerky is one of the few foods that actually consume more calories to eat than you get from it. At least, that's my theory and I'm sticking to it....

well its been days since I have had time to hit the gym and already I can feel it. Loss of energy, bloated...so today I revamped my schedule so at lunch instead of going hom and eating and chilling out for a while I hit the gym and did my 1.5 hour weight session in 45 minutes...damn I am freaking amped now. This after noon I will do my cardio, that will allow me enough time to get home, make dinner/feed the kids and then off to football practice. I think this will benifit me 2 ways, it will keep me from pigging out at lunch time, and it will spike my metabolism both mid day and late in the evening when I seem to get really hungry....

                      Ball squeezing for stress relief..
Probably time for some light weights.. Doc wants me in a pool..

Is retaining water something your everyday person should be worried about? and why?

It does have an effect. Example: The factory i work in is not air conditioned so I sweat my balls off during the summer. The first month I was there I lost 20 pounds. Some of it was from just being active - it wasn't particularly hard work, just constant moving - but a lot of it was just from sweating. I rarely have to piss once during a 10 hour shift, but I am constantly drinking water, Gatorade, and sodas to keep my body temp down.
When I go to the gym I weigh myself before each workout. One day when it was only in the 80's as opposed to over 100 (didn't sweat nearly as much but I had been keeping up the fluid intake during the day) I weighed myself before and after my cardio workout just out of curiosity. I lost 2 1/2 pounds in 20 minutes. The only difference between the before and after was I spent 20 minutes with sweat literally running off of me.
Best I can figure if you're active you really don't retain much water weight. If you're not, you retain a lot more of it. I'm completely talking out of my ass here though, since I have nothing to back it up other than limited personal experience.

Ahh, i took up another notch on my belt this morning, getting back to where i should be. It is a little snug and i got a good ways to go but it is nice to see results.
And my taste for fruit is back, todays meal is avacado, white nectaine, banana and an apple. During the winter you'd have to put a gun to my head to eat avacado, i wonder why.
