I've cut 90% of all dairy out of my diet ans supplement with calcium pills. I feel 100% better without the dairy in my diet. I am bloated less, gassy less, more energy and my sinus issues have decreased signifigantly (although I still hevily medicate daily due to my allergy to damn near everything that has a root)

If I have milk its fat free, I eat ice cream maybe once a month, I do like a slice of cheese on a sammich and my pizza is a given. I used to drink half a gallon of milk a day, ate ice cream all the time...cheese went on every damn thing...

Got out of the gym this morning after a crazy cardio ond weight session...man do I feel great, totaly energized can't sit down...love workouts like that

One workout I'm loving is dynamic workouts. Here's the basic routine for me currently, occupies a half session, other half being pyramid weights (light, normal, heavy, normal, light):

Get a 18 lb. medicine ball for these two:

      1. Slams- From a crouched position, move the ball up in the air and slam it onto the concrete, going from crouch to extended on toes to a squat. 10x reps.

      2. Overhead throw. From a crouching position, explode up, throwing the ball over and behind you. 10x reps.

      3. Rope slam: a very heavy gauge rope (think large boat-docking rope) bound at a point, about 20' long. Grab both ends and slam quickly, like the medicine ball. 10x FAST.

      4. Sledgehammer/Ax. Depends on what's available, I'm using an 8 lb. sledge on a military truck tire. 10x each arm.

It's good cardio and involves a lot of your muscles.
      Editor-at-Large at...well, here, of course!

Caveman workout...good stuff....big ropes are hard to come by as are sledgehammers and tractor tires...esp at base gyms...but I've read a lot about that type of work out...they'll rip you up quick like.

I've read through a lot of this and I find it impressive what some of you are trying to accomplish and what others have accomplished so good for you and keep it up! I may very well be the oldest guy on this Forum and I even need help getting out of bed in the morning, well OK the last part is BS but no Gym for me, I don't have the time. I walk a minimum of 10,000 steps a day (personal record of 31,000) and that is sometimes hard to do in the Winter so I have a Treadmill and Eliptical trainer down in the Rec room, pushups sometimes but I probably have a shoulder operation coming up this Winter, getting old Sucks but it's better then the alternative!

I bet you would feel right at home in a small gym. It isn't the amount of weight, it isn't the reps - those things are vanity bragging rights. What it is is using different muscle groups, right now you have aches and pains and you get exercise the best way you can. Your body has already figured out what your routine is and when you start your excersize your body recognizes what is going on and accomodates that particular excersize. Try fooling your body and do something it don't expect, your shoulder needs help to try some lifting excersizes - nothing extreme but maybe a 5lb weight. Don't do anything that can be hazardous, the goal is to improve your body make it think it is limber and young again - this is a slow process but i bet you'll see improvement within 2 weeks.

Got my results for this summer's ballistic session:

4 lbs lost. That's just bullshit...
4% body fat lost. That's more like it.
Overall size loss: noticeable, need more work though.
Strength: Very good increase. I'm back to 500 lb. leg presses. Not bad.

I'm betting the 4lbs weight loss was limited by muscle gain. Be happy about it

I screwed my right shoulder again - did it in the shop swinging a mallet stretching some tin work - and went to dollar general and bought a jar of thier chrondroitin 1500mg for $6. I ran out of it monthst ago and forgot/got out of the habit to take it. 2 pills later and i feel i have a brand new shoulder! That stuff is amazing. If any of you guys have aches and pains in the joints give it a try.

About 130 day's ago I weighted about 201 lbs. and I decided I want to loose some weight. Today I am 176 lbs.

I started eating Post Crunchy Pecan cereal at breakfast which for me is around 5 AM

Then I have another bowl around 11 AM and another around 2 PM and then I have a normal dinner which is whatever my wife makes.

So far I have lost 25 lbs without doing any exercise at this point.

The only exercise I do is lifting weights which I have done my entire life.

I really need to start walking but because of the business always being busy I find I don't have enough time to do it.

I should also tell you that I cut out most carbs in my diet and that reduces the size of your gut.

I went from a 36 to 37 inch waist to a 34 inch waist which at age 65 is something I never thought I would see again.

Try it because it really is not that hard to do. My blood pressure dropped to around 118/62 with no medication!!!!!!!!
