I'm new on this board, but planning my first HRPT in my '63 C10. We have a pretty good group of classic trucks that are planning to join the Tour.

Can someone recommend hotels or areas at each stop? Thanks.

Welcome aboard - better get on those hotels quick. The closest ones to the venues fill up fast. Lots of folks on here use Holiday Inn Express - I use the Choice.com chain (Comfort Inn, Quality Inn, Econo Lodge, etc.) mostly, they're not as pricey.

Does anyone have a list of the host hotels? Is it cheaper to use the magazines company to book your hotel?
Does anyone have a schedule of the time we leave or events going on the tour?
I know I've got lots of questions. Going for the long haul, last one I went on was in 2001.

Go to family events.com they have the dates and hotel list even if you don't book through them it will give you a starting point. Good luck.

I used Family Events to book hotels the first year but only the first one. Not much flexibility on cancellations and you can probably do better yourself by going to one hotel chain or anothers website, I use choice.com (Comfort Inn, Quality Inn, Econo Lodge, etc.) and lots of folks on here use Holiday Inn Express. But watch out for the Lowest Rate Guaranteed bookings button (read the fine print first if you do) - you pay up front and NO cancellations so pay a little more in case you need to change reservations. I tried cheapo Motel 6 for a year or two - some were great, some not so much, some were spooky (the other guests mostly!), and several reservations disappeared - they can leave the light on for somebody else from now on. See ya in 134 days.
