Thanks Linda. I think that Norb and Terry may join us. The WST starts a few days after our car club's show the weekend before.

Rett, Norb and Terry bought a 2002 convertable back in October from the original owner in Virginia. It's an automatic, blue with tan interior and a black top. It has a bunch of upgrades and looks really sharp. Maureen and I had been contemplating a C5 and while we were on vacation the 99 jumped out and said "Buy me!!!!" So, we did. We bought it from a Chevy dealer and stole it. Figuratively speaking that is. As for a trailer hitch, I think the trunk space in the C-5's is sufficient enough to allow luggage for a week or more eliminating the need for a trailer.
yes Jim the C5 should be adequate for the trip as far as storage goes. I never had any problems with mine.

Now then, I do want to try and plan for this trip, thanks for the invite Doug. I can find the cities but is there an itinerary and list of hotels somewhere I'm missing. I don't do facebook. Probably one of two people in the country who doesn't.

never mind I found them on page 15 post 142 IIRC. (posted so I don't forget)

It is not my goal to arrive at Heaven in a perfectly preserved body with no scars or regrets. It is to arrive sliding in sideways, in 4th gear worn out and tattered proclaiming, "wow" what a ride!

This is Hackberry, Arizona. This town is not on our primary route for the Western Scenic Tour however if you are from So. Cal we do plan on taking Route 66 on our way home. Get your kicks on Route 66 AND the Western Scenic Tour!

Many of our bangshift friends are preparing their cars for the power tour about now. For those of us not going on the PT, we are envious and dream about cruising with friends through the highways and byways of the US. So if the PT did not fit into your plans due to the timing, costs, distance or whatever, maybe you can make the Western Scenic Tour starting in Las Vegas on September 22. Our trip takes us from Las Vegas into Zion National Park, Utah where we will tour the scenic canyon. That nights overnight stay will be just outside the park in Mt. Carmel, Utah. The next morning we will drive through some beautiful locations including Arches National Park and Castle Valley before spending the night in Moab, Utah. Our next mornings drive will take us to the southwestern part of Colorado where we will stay for two days in the beautiful town of Ouray high in the Colorado Rockies. This trip will take in some beautiful locations and include a drive over the million dollar highway! You won't find roads and country like this anywhere except in the beautiful southwest! Tour ends the morning of the 27th! Beautiful scenery, photography, great cars and of course great people! Come join us!
