Fabulous - it's very satisfying to see a project go from your gray matter, to paper, to actually existing before your eyes. Very cool indeed.

When you get to the lighting I found an online source that seems to have impossible to beat prices, the website is a bit clunky...

Buy recessed lighting, track lighting, light bulbs, LED Malibu lights, outdoor landscape lighting, outdoor and indoor transformers for your home, gallery, office and business.
There's always something new to learn.

Got two more walls put up and started the staircase to the upper level. I made the stairs 6 ft wide to carry large objects up for storage and to also hide my air compressor underneath the stairs. Its finally looking like something in there!

Double Door going into my Machine Room

Extra wide stair case opening. Plan to cut the treads next week.

9X10 opening (will have sliding door) to be able to move equipment in and out or if need be slide another car in there.

Lookin' good! I think it's interesting how the space changes as the walls go in.

Looking good Nick. Yeah Dan, I built houses for years and it's pretty cool to watch how they change perceptually. Make sure to put some pony walls under the stairs if you're doing them conventionally, i.e. 2"X12" stringers.

My friend has been doing a top notch job, I'm sure he will do it right since he also used to frame homes. I more or less get to be the grunt worker while he builds away.

OK, I just read all 30 pages. How I missed this, AND you are just north of me, is beyond words.

I just spent some time 2 weeks ago going to City of Bellevue for the planning department to tell me what I couldn't do, how far out I was allowed to build, and how small an actual garage I can build. Plans for me have changed...but working on some fun myself.
                  Very awesome building.

I'm curious on who you used for foundation, and framing.

If I had a garage like that, I'd have pallet racking and a crane runway in the 3-5 ton rating area.
Which is pretty convenient as I work for a company the designs and sells cranes!

Seriously though, Phil and I will be there for the grand opening, er, welcoming. Someone will be video taping the first burnout in the shop, right?? Riiiggghhhtttt...

The building was built by alot of friends and I have many in various trades luckily. Been a much longer than anticipated build that has cost too much money but hey you only live life once!

A little more progress, started setting the floor joists in place. I have some laying up there ready to getting set upright in the next few days. Its nice seeing the material pile get smaller!

Got the stair treads cut to size just need to nail them in place. That pile is standing up to the right side of the pic. The boards on the stairs now are for the front side of each step.

Even got some help from the little guy!

Has he learned the 'smash finger, yell loudly, promptly smash same finger' move yet?

                            Escaped on a technicality.

Haha, no but he nearly tried the hammer to fender routine on my Nova saying he was gonna fix it for me........

I keep a tight leash on him at all times since he is still learning. I'm just happy to see him always working with his hands, beats video games!
