I want to stay married. And at 140 mph that huge assed wide frickin airport runway got mighty narrow to me. May the ECTA folks thank their lucky stars that peewee didn't shut down the whole sport except for that black line down the center of the runway, because I sure wouldn't have seen the gap between the timing lights otherwise.

I think Car Craft should promote volunteering at the old folks home or the church and stop talking about cars all together.

I also think anyone who buys just 1 aftermarket performance part and installs it on a street car or truck is a hypocrite if they say one negative comment about street racing.

lest not forget there is many years of cars known to be fast in the last 5 or the 60s. inbetween needs all they can get just to be normal.

140mph is nothing I did that on I10 at 3:00 in the morning in my dad's '76 450SEL 6.9 Mercedes...........Only bad part was coming up on a cop like he was standing still and going to jail for the night.............. Cool thing was getting a DUI thrown out of court along with a hit and run of a stop sign and only having to pay for a speeding ticket that was for 20mph over the speed limit...... The cop wrote it for that because I didn't give him a hard time and was very cooperative........ Though they did make me pay for the Stop Sign, $111 at the time.......... But man that Benz was glued to the ground at that speed............

Well, 140 is as fast as I've gone on tires except for being on a jet taking off. The fast folks here will laugh at that, but that's the way it is for me. told for the truth.

Bob's truck , pdub, has something you don't. A blower. (that and some crank vents. Bob, did you get that fixed?) This blower thing (Blower Blower Blower) is something which your car needs so it doesn't get outrun by an F150. KT would be pissed if you let the L run for a mile, from what I remember. It's got at or more than 140 in it in a mile, stock.

I am not sure I want to street race, I don't like carrying a weapon. Eight second car? Holy moly. I'd be too worried about somebody stealing it and all the local parts whores canabilizing it before I knew it was gone.

The block is still ventilated but I'm going to take the plunge in the next couple weeks and get the big gun for under the hood.

BTW, Turk would kick my ass out for good if I let it rip for a mile.

i street raced alot while i was stationed at MCAS el toro back in the early 80's even had OCIR next door to the base but street racing was more fun .i even ran a few times on 135th & main !!!!

I don't see why people are getting their undies in a twist over a magazine talking about street racers' cars when car companies have been showing people racing on the streets in nearly every commercial. The new Ford Focus commercials is an actual FnF type street race. Of course, they put in the little words: "Professional drivers on closed course. Do not attempt".

If you're gonna get pissy about promoting street racing, go after the ones who are mass marketing the stupid things you can do in their new car. These commercials reach 100x's the audience than CC mag does.

Just watched the video and damned if those aren't the guys (CPR) who I found online and built my headers for the N351 heads last minute - last year so I could make DW. Met a cool guy at the shop and they did me right with great quality even at such short notice.

This is obviously a touchy subject for many. I don't dig it in populated areas as many have said already and I only race at the track because I have too much time and money invested to risk losing it to impound or any number of things that can happen with inexperience of drivers or non-prepped surfaces. Sure...call me a spoiled track wuss, that's fine.

I'm going to tow a trailer to the track with my truck, unhook and race the truck. That'll show em!

i have a strange urge to do this on a drag week. race the tow vehicle and keep the car and trailer hooked to it when going to the different tracks then un-hook and race then re-hook when going to the next track
