Had the pleasure to meet him once and get a bunch of autographed stuff. Never thought he would die. RIP

Sadly my friend Bob that built the Indy Car motors passed away recently to........
Pullinsi, Robert
56, of Phoenix, AZ passed away on April 14, 2012. Bob Pullinsi left this earth too soon on April 14. He was a caring father, loyal friend and proud grandpa. Bob was always involved in the automotive and racing industry and at the height of his career, was president of RPM Engines, which built Indy Car Racing engines. He was talented not only building cars but could also fix anything. He made many friends because of his great sense of humor and caring nature. Bob will truly be missed and remembered for this. He leaves behind two sons, Ryan Pullinsi and stepson, Antone Cascketta, a granddaughter, Alexandrea Peyton Loper, his parents, Phil and Patricia Pullinsi, and a brother, Phil Pullinsi. Services will be held at Shadow Mountain Mortuary, 2350 E Greenway Rd. Monday, May 14 at 1 PM and the Celebration of his Life will follow at his favorite bar, Catch 22 on 32nd St. and Union Hills Dr.Comment

Just another automotive great in recent years to leave us........Bob may be nothing to you, but for the people that knew him, he was every bit a Carrol Shelby if not more.........Put it this way if it wasn't for guys like Bob, there wouldn't be guys like DG........ He was there in the pioneer days of performance EFI working at Arizona Speed and Marine........Originally posted by Orange95Z View PostAnd that has to do with Carroll Shelby how?Last edited by TC; May 12, 2012, 05:29 PM.Comment

Mr. Speedy has produced some of the most entertaining and enjoyable reading of all the contributers on this forum...imo
Don't let the bullying name callers give you a moments pause. they are just judgemental people who never grew out of those high school mentalities. That was a very nice synopsis of Mr. Shelby's career. He will be truly missed.Mike in Southwest OhioComment

Here's some picture of the man when I worked at Hertz's world headquarters and Carroll came to visit when Hert'z re-introduce Shelby Mustangs into the fleet

The guy in the jacket behind Carrol, is Walt Seaman. He was VP of the fleet dept and was the one responsible for Hertz coming back with the Shelby Mustang. Walt was a hell of a nice guy but became a causality when Ford sold Hertz.

The cones were only to indicate where cars could be driven on the sidewalk. Most of the sidewalk was suspended and would not hold the weight of a car. Underneath the car, it was concrete footings.

Tuning on the Shelby Mustang was exactly the same as the regular production.TomOverdrive is overrated

What an idiot. Nobody at Arizona Speed & Marine invented EFI, you need to do some homework on EFI history if you want to be taken seriously.Originally posted by TC View PostPut it this way if it wasn't for guys like Bob, there wouldn't be guys like DG........ On the flip side, I really enjoyed reading Speedy's posts on Carroll Shelby. Lets us get to know Speedy a little better (photo of grandson with CS - how cool!) and great insight into SHelby's relationship(s) with Ford over the years.
Definitely speedzter doing what he does best, unfortunately a little polluted by TC doing what he does most.www.realtuners.com - catch the RealTuners Radio Podcast on Youtube, Facebook, iTunes, and anywhere else podcasts are distributed!Comment

RIP Mr. Shelby, you've inspired countless rodders (including me) with your ability to take the mundane and make it world class.Doing it all wrong since 1966Comment

Bob worked for AZ Speed and Marine in the 80's you know when EFI was first getting popular with Production Vehicles......You've only been doing this stuff for 5 years, how would you know what AZ Speed and Marine was doing in the 80's, you don't...........Plus I don't see you ever having 6 contracts with 6 different Indy car teams to build their motors like Bob did......By the way those contracts were worth a minimum of 1 million dollars a piece........Sit down small fry, you'll only dream of doing the stuff Bob did in his life............Originally posted by dieselgeek View PostWhat an idiot. Hey Brian, DG has the boner for me not the other way around, realize that that was his first post in this thread and the first words he typed was calling me an IDIOT!!!!.........Originally posted by Brian Lohnes View PostTC, the boner you have for DG that seems to pop up in every freaking thread regardless of what it has to do with is getting old.
So before you go off accusing me of starting shit you better go back and see who posted first talking shit, because it was surely not me that posted to him first.........Comment

Don't mind me, mate. Thank you!Originally posted by Brian Lohnes View PostTC, the boner you have for DG that seems to pop up in every freaking thread regardless of what it has to do with is getting old.
I know no history, but the short time I have been on this wonderful site...
Yep. This is old... At times entertaining.. At times I find bits of my tongue on the keyboard..
Who did what first doesn't matter anymore..
We all have our likes and dislikes... How we respond makes us the person we are..
I admit.. Hard at times...
I love the fact I am relearning stuff I forgot, remembering? Learning new stuff.. And the general coolness of fellow car junkies.Comment

That is right you don't know any history, fact is I have made it a point not to respond to DG's posts unless he responds to one of my posts first, I've been doing this for quite awhile now....... I do this so I don't look like the guy starting crap with him...... And the fact is it does matter who posted it first.... Like in this thread, he provided nothing about Shelby and started his First Post in this thread off by calling me an Idiot and then when I respond to it, I'm the bad guy??...........Originally posted by Deaf Bob View PostI know no history
