Drag Week 2012 (wet paint and no transmission but finished) Drag Week 2013 Daily Driver finished in middle of pack (again) Drag Week 2014 #56 of 126 Daily Drivers. (getting closer to the 32)
As other guys are putting stuff together I'm taking it apart...lol. Gave my springs a quick tug today before putting the valve covers back on and found a broken spring. New lifters and springs on the way. Still on schedule to test this weekend.

I bought some nice new radials for the highway in a size I have used before. I toss them on today and will have a bad rubbage problem so it's off to roll the fenders. I guess when I put the mono springs in it moved the position some.
I would normally say f it and run my drag radials the whole trip but it scares me to not have a weather tire.

agreed, although I've driven on such crappy tires when I was a kid I might remember how to do it. B60-13's almost completely tread free on a Vega + rain or ice... man, thanks for those memories. Add power? I didn't hear a bunch of complaints out of Squirrel though so I think I'll just run the DR's. The MT DR's have a big rain groove as far as drag radials go.
I'm really on the fence about a trailer. Parts of it would be convenient, but I don't know if I would sleep worth a damn or not with a bunch of bait for scumbags in the parking lot. I'm a little paranoid sometimes.
Now... if Mr Brown and Mr. Fedex will indulge me and deliver my engine parts.. I can get greasy.
Did I mention you guys are pretty freaking hard-core? Gawd, it just dawned on me what springs and lifters cost, and new ones on the way like it's a trip to Dunkin Donuts for a pound of coffee... YIKES! lol. Awesome.
TSanchez - man, is that your shop? I don't think my kitchen is that clean! Is that car on hardwood? HOLY CARP!
My engine has been together since sunday waiting to go back in but no car to put it in yet. The chassis man is holdin it hostage. A supposed 2 day job to put in a roll bar and it's been in there for a week.If he would of told me he wasn't going to start on it til tuesday I would of had the motor and trans back in and the car running.
Oh well I'm supposedly getting it back tonight.
I ran the Goodyear Drag Radials last year, and could easily run 45-50 in a heavy downpour...
Too bad they were useless at the track!! So this year it's M/T ET STREET Bias and I will drive on them, right up until I'm backwards in a ditch, I suppose...

I drove on my normal street tires to Topeka, then swapped on the BFG Drag Radials and left them on the whole week, including through some rain. Then bolted the normal street tires back on for the drive home. I thought about leaving the tires at Topeka for the week on BBR's trailer, but opted to unload them from the trunk daily so a flat wouldn't side line me. If I was going to unload one, I might as well make it two.
im running a 265/75/15 firestone light truck rear tire..its about 30.5" tall..putting the mickey slicks on at the track every day,,,no gear changes this year...
