    True, all forged awesomeness
How much Hp is a debatable question, the big drag racers use 4 bolt main conversions, but unless your spinning past 7000 it's not needed.
This was the same block used by AMC pro stock and the Penske TA team in various displacement so I would say its on par with offerings from the big 3, honestly on any given day, in any given type of racing any brand could win, be it TA, pro stock, etc.

It's in consideration, I have cross-ram visions in my head for the future, not sure how that might work with efi, sorta conflicted on the subject?!

I have FAST ez-efi on my Corvette - I really like it.... cross ram, dual FAST throttle bodies - supports 900 hp

Engine is home! On a stand in my garage
The roadrace pan is way cool in real life, and the Diamond pistons are works of art. Too bad neither will be seen once it's in the car.

Parts ordered from Summit to complete engine assembly.

maybe he's mad because he heard what I said about an AMC (a 4x4 purple and lavender Eagle)...

This is the only newer picture I haven't posted. Just before it was put in the back of my Durango.
Here it is in it's Traco-gray covering, rather than the normal AMC blue.
Now it's all wrapped up in plastic 'till I start screwing things to it.

Traco-gray - is that a custom AMC color? It looks very similar to the single stage gray we're going to spray the falcon engine compartment and chassis.

It's the color Traco used on all their engines that were built for Penske and others.
My builder found a very close match in a spray can based on some original Traco parts he had on hand.

I was thinking boat motor grey =P

Looks like it's stuffed with nice shiny parts though!
                        Escaped on a technicality.

You're solving the oiling problem the same way I'm solving it on my 455 Buick (err, 430 buick in a 455 block)

that looks just awesome regardless - I like grey on motors - makes finding leaks a lot easier.

Gray? Around these parts all the boat motors are BLACK! (my dad retired from mercury a few years ago)

I think the leak chasing was the original reason for the color, but Traco made it iconic to some. Keeping the oil where it should be, even on mild motors is important, especially when cornering, these things were not designed for extreme lateral oil control. So, yeah, just work around oiling deficiencies by not using it, Lol.

I would think a Buick could use a similar oil-pickup modification, similar oil pump setup I think?

yep, except the pickup is on the other side of the pan. With mine, I'm looping from the pickup, across the motor and into the pump (getting rid of 4- 90* bends)

This is awesome! Let me know when and if you want a hand for final assembly and dropping it in. I got your message when you were on the way home with it, was there shop any less jaw dropping than the time I was there with you? Seemed like everywhere there was something else to stare at......... if your into AMC stuff. ;)

Also, got your message bout Friday. Sounds like fun, has it been 2 years since we were in Vegas? We'll try to be there, there better be Optimator on tap still.

                                See Ya soon.

                                Cheers, Steve.
