I bought the car as a cruiser with a 383 stroker and B&M street blower with a 350 trans, then I had this stupid idea to enter the "HRM Pump Gas Drags" with it and wouldn't you know the car was accepted, that was the good news, the bad news was it would have been one of the slowest cars there in it's present form so we tied into it, I know now it would have been cheaper to start from scratch but a bunch of money later (457" small block Brodix, TCI 400, Moser assembly) it was ready or so we thought and we took off for Memphis, due to circumstances sort of beyond our control (Crank trigger hitting the frame and a broken driveshaft) the car's maiden voyage was the first pass of eliminations and it stood up on the Wheelie bars which got it the centerspread of HRM but was basically out of competition at that point. The car is also a 1500 mile Drag Week survivor in 2005. The Fourth picture here shows the real "Grumpy Jenkins" posing with the "Purple I" car, he used to build my Motors when I was racing in "Stock Eliminator" and "Super Stock Eliminator" years ago!

Tony Barker built 457" all aluminum small block that makes 750 hp on pump gas and then we throw a shitload of Nitrous at it on top of the 750 hp.TCI 400 trans. and converter, Moser spool with 3.70 gears.

Best to date of an 8.56 at 159.87 with mufflers & air cleaner, respectable for a honest street car, it just won't keep up with the Big Boys!
