Beautiful beast, I have seen some pic of this rig before. Love it, but only slightly envious as I have a 64 cab on a 60 c40 chassis with a 454 4 speed and a Brownie 3sp box. I can get this to 60 mph but I won't hold it there.

This truck is a truly homespun BangShift Project. I was tipped off to the machine by BS forum Member 1988MonteCarloSS2, who lives in Maine. After seeing a couple bad photos of the truck I knew I needed to own it and I sold a bunch of junk to raise the cash and score the truck. It took a couple months, but the day after getting home from SEMA 2009, I went ant got the truck with my father in law, wresting from behind a dumpster in Camden, Maine.
The Cool Stuff!The engine is a 1966 Chevy 292ci inline six and the transmission is the venerable SM420 meat grinder that was used in trucks from the 1940s through the 1970s!
Yes, the truck has suspension and brakes. The suspension is just about the same design that would be found on an 18th century hay wagon and the brakes are a bizarro design used by GM on medium duty trucks of this era. The rear leaf springs make the junk o a one ton truck look worthless and weak!
The wheels are 22.5" Budd style pieces and the tires are 10R22.5 Firestones all around. The front tires are Firestone FS560s and the rear are luggy Firestone FD663s. The dual tires in the rear are totally freaking awesome. When we got the truck it only had singles on it, and they were of smaller size as well. WEAK!
The paint and body on this truck are pretty awful. The cab was rotted to a state that most others would have walked away from, the bedsides are junk, and the previous owner brush painted the whole damned thing green.
God I love this truck!The interior is spartan and bad ass. Steel dash, steel doors, steel floor, etc. Oh, we almost forgot our 40 dollars junkyard bench.
Track? Performance? We'll hook a chain to the timing tower and yank that sucker over! With the current gearing 55mph is the absolute top end.
