Those are best fixes. Simple and cheap. Glad it worked out.

Any ideas why the garage now smells like a gas station. I have checked all of the fuel connections and cannot find any leaks. I also checked the lawnmower and the mini-van. Guess I will have to sit them out one at a time until I find the culprit.

Check the charcol canister the filter may need replacing. If you take the gas cap loose after driving for about 20 min and it gives a sigh of relief that would confirm it needs replacing. Or check for the vwnt hose being off the charcol canister.

I second what HoosierGTA recommends....if the filter(which resembles one of those pre-filled coffee packs) is plugged, hose cracked or disconnected, you'll be huffing fumes in no time.

This reminds me...I need to get a replacement housing for mine. Some "genuis" decided it didn't need to be there on mine, and yup....had eau de Marathon for cologne. Lines have been plugged off for the moment, but a proper fix is in the wings...

                  Re: 91CCFirebird's 1991 Firebird Formula

I just wrapped up the window motor on the passenger side window bucuse 1 by air was not working well enough. The 2 by air however is a much needed improvement. I have two tubes running out of the charcoal cannister, one to the throttle body and one to the tank vent. There is a third nipple off to the side from the other two....any input on where that is supposed to connect?

On my '88 the third one is the vent and doesn't have a hose attached to it. It has a little plastic guard that clips onto it to keep big stuff from getting into it, but if you pull that off it has a hose nipple. The underhood vacuum diagram on mine labels it as the vent and doesn't show a hose going there.

Still fighting the stupid iron caliper rear brakes sticking. I went ahead and bought the rest of the stuff I needed to swap to the aluminum calipers rather than waste any money on the iron stuff. Should be done this week.

Really glad to hear your motor isn't toast!

That makes two of us glad. Thnk I figured out the Marathon smell today, went to fill'er up and the gas cap wasn't on right. Let's hope it was that simple. 4 speed good luck on the brake conversion.
