    This place is decent.
We have many hotels, some newer hotels are at Exit 33 off I-77. The race shops are mostly between exit 33 and exit 36 off I-77. Most race shops do not have any visitation on weekends.
If any one would like a few more suggestions, let me know.

Dad said one day maybe next week we will ride down that way and talk to the race shops. My uncle is in Charlotte now and he is doing most everything we are doing. He told us that we dont want to do the Nascar hall of Fame. He said its in the Middle of Charlotte and the closest place to park is about a mile away in a parking garage. But he said hendircks place is amazing.

The North Carolina Auto Racing Hall of Fame is in Mooresville, and well worth seeing. It is open on Saturday's. A map is avaiable that shows all the local race shops and attractions from the Chamber of Commerce or by calling the NCARHOF.

Most race teams are not open weekends, although some special arrangements may be available.
I also recomend Lancaster's BBQ in Mooresville for any one that likes racing and great BBQ.
Being in Charlotte on a Friday and heading North towards Concord or Mooresville is a traffic nightmare most Friday's.
    I'm done hijacking the thread.

htrdharley I don't think you are hijacking I think this is helpful information since I am coming from Maryland and need to know this. I am coming down on that Wednesday and visiting Earnhardt Chevrolet and DEI.

Alright dad finally got a plan going on.
    Friday:
Meet at Detroit Speed. Around 3ish?
Tour their shop and see their projects.
Then head over to Concord area to go through the mall or see the tracks.
    then to the hotel.
    Saturday:
Go to hendricks place tour their shops
ride up to the RCR winery
depending on time, go to the RCR Museum
then head to our house, cook out.
then you guys head to a hotel.
Sunday: Head up to Pilot Mountain (to you Andy Griffin watchers it would be Mt. Pilot) look out at the top and enjoy the view
then everyone can leave from there.

    how does this sound?
and does anyone recommend any specific kind of hotel?
