Its actually pretty quiet in the cab(even with no windows) and I like the way it sounds...
now to fit a few things then get onto the body work

That's the payoff! Getting to actually drive it for the first time! Sounds good Mike! Wish you were going this year, I'd love to see it in person.

I would have liked to go this year but I layed out tooo much money for this
project... I need to fix my oil leaks(1 of the remote oil line fittings is leaking
and oil is getting sucked in on the right pipe(at the ball socket connection)
plus I want to change the ratio on the steering... its too slow(I'll shorten the
steering arms which I made my longer to slow it down) but I dont like what
              I did on that

I was kinda hoping to see a Pontiac in there Jim. Glad you made it over here, we need another talented and knowledgeable engine builder around these parts. Looking forward to seeing this one done.

I'm not happy with the engine... the rings dont seems to be sealing
the way I want SO I'm gonna pull the engine tomorrow and tear it
back down.... I ran it this morning at 2500 rpm and at 195* for a
1/2 hour and the smoke out the pipes never really cleared up...
so its coming out.... oh well... no big deal... I can have it on the
                    ground in a hour

I pulled the engine and torn it down.. cylinders were shiney and the
cross hatch was pretty well gone... I took the block into the machine
shop today for magnaflux on the bores, hone and new cam bearings...
I should have it back near the end of the week... I should have it back
together on Saturday and back in the car on Sunday....HOPEFULLY

Also what would you guys clean the oil out of the exhaust with... I
was thinking spraying carb cleaner down it... but I'm open for any ideas

Its one thing after another on this damn engine... I seen that the oil pressure
was a bit low(normally when I prime it, it'll hit 80 PSi) well the top of the lifter
supply hole is just coming out of the lifter bushings... plus the lifter bushings
were a bit loose(more than I want) so I'm having the shop push in new bushings
and leaving them long to cover the hole.... I was hoping to be on the dyno Tuesday
but thats not happening... I'll drop it off Monday and pick it up in a couple of days

I had this issue on my block and he lifter bushing fix wasn't cheap. I upgraded to .904 lifters in the process. You are already there I expect.

Well I picked up my block today and they installed the new and taller
lifter bushings but couldnt ream the bushings for me (tool was gone or
lost or something)... no big deal I have the proper ream... I did half of
them today and will finish them up tomorrow... give it another cleaning
and prep it to put it back together... should be on the dyno by Tuesday
............ if the oil pressure is right....PLEASE LORD...
I'm still not tooooo far behind my time line

I reamed out the lifter bushings... that turned out nice... cleaned
the block and reassembled most of the engine today... gotta put
the pan on with a couple of bolts then spin up the oil pump to see
what I have for pressure... if it right I'll finish up tomorrow and take
the engine to the dyno on Monday and should be running on the dyno
                                Tuesday
