Looks like you might get good weather Friday - Monday for this paint job. Nothing like a bit of snow / rain mix this time of year huh?

Yeah it was snowing here pretty good today for a couple of hours...
I'm setting up the spray booth in the shop so I can paint anytime
but I would like a dry day so I'm not sucking in moisture but with
the heated floor I dont have any moisture in there.. and the inlet
        air is filtered

Sometimes I can be so STUPID.... I wanted to hit a couple of spots last night
with primer.. well I ran out of the catalyst that I bought with the primer.. so I
grabbed some OLD stuff I had in my paint cabinet and mixed that up.. well it
didnt look right in the mixing cup but stupid ass me I shot it anyways... well
this morning I could tell it wasnt hard when sanding it.... so I ended up sanding
that crap off(which was a bitch) and picked up a new can of catalyst today and
shoot it again... I mean DAMN ... 3 steps backwards and 1 forward... as soon as
it dries up I'll sand it again and hopefully be back to where i was yesterday before
my F$^K up.......... RANT OFF...... STUPID ASS ME(all I had to do was pour it out)

Yeah, sometimes that "quicky fix" is the long way around. We just don't know it when we do it.

            Bummer.

Thanks for sharing. I think we all make mistakes like this and there is some solace in the fact that we do not stand alone in these types of things.
Deep breath, maybe a beer or two, regroup….. and back at it.
Good luck getting color on it, that’s a HUGE step forward when it does happen.

We have a great group of active stuff going in the project thread now, that's cool!

Thats what I did.. while the primer is drying I came in a popped
a couple of brews... as soon as its dry I'll get out there and give it
a sand to see what its like now... it SHOULD be fine but when you/me
screw up like this it CAN bite you in the butt... but I think I got it all
sanded off(took a lot of sanding and paper) to get the crap off... it
kept loading up my paper.. even with 150 grit... damn glad I didnt
spray a BIG area... but as soon as it hits off I'll see where I stand
thanks guys..... the bitching is done.... so close but yet so far... next
week it should be in color

It was sanded out good... I sprayed a coat of primer on the areas and after
it hit off I sanded that... all is good now.. it sanded out like it should and didnt
show signs of any issues... one more coat this evening and it SHOULD be done..
I'm gonna shoot that right after dinner and guide coat that in the morning.. it
should be in color next week .... oh... I do shoot a seal coat down after the primer
is completed but you have a time frame (usually 48 hours) from when you spray
the sealer to when you do the color... so I will do it all in a basically a short period
of time(total paint job within that 48 hours) but once I start I'll stick with it till
                    finished

I look forward to seeing the progress.

I've missed the time frame before and thought I could get away with it, ahhhhhh nope. Wrinkled like a prune.

Yeah I watch the time frame closely and tend to stay way short
of the dead line.... just to be safe... I'll shoot the sealer one day
then shoot color the same day or the next day at the latest

                            Awww dat's be nuthin!
Last weekend, busting azz to get to a derby 5 hrs away, we (as usual) decided to paint in the pits. Rolled on a coat...kaboom, the skies opened up... Our paint streaked and ran almost all off! .. It only needs to look good for 5 minutes.. We didn't get one!

Yeah... I know boneheaded real well..

Well this is just proof that even guys that can build a car from scratch and build headers with such ease that the rest of us feel unworthy - is still capable of a lapse of good judgement.... yup - we're all human!

Sure is nice to have some jeans and tshirt weather - should be great for painting for the next few days at least.

Yeah I'm gonna finish blocking then clean.. then set up the booth... I
was setting up racks and hangers to see how much room I have to
work with... I'd hate to bump into something when its still wet... I
blocked out the tailgate and the drivers door yesterday for the final
time.. those parts are 100%.. the front drivers side fender needed a
minor touch up and I did that... I'm just going over each piece for the
last time.... I'll start on the booth in a day or so... I hung the upper cables
for the walls the other day so thats done.... getting close
