in the great words of jeremy clarckson

yeah finally figured out the damn fuel pump fuse issue. i changed the relay so i thought that can't be it so after spending 3 days back tracking the wiring and replacing the fuel pump (with the one form the GTX... not int he best shape) with no effect i did a resistance check on the new relay

that brand new relay was DOA god damn thing would arc internally as it was not making full contact. god damn new parts.

oh well at least the fuel pump is now fully rewired including a better ground. the pump is still weak but no longer popping fuses

So replacing a relay with a jumper wire isn't always a bad idea?
      LOL
There's always something new to learn.

nope i was really tempted to just put in a switch under the dash with a 30 amp fuse to the the pump

well thought it was fixed but nope so i bought a 350 gph single speed in tank fuel pump. the stock one is only 190 ghp sooo i think i will be fine

also when messing around in the back of the car after i removed the rear seat i noticed this really messed up none factory ground... it looks like it was there a wile and is rubbed right through when i took it off the pump did not work and all so i think it's the pump ground

the previous owner did say he put in a dual speed pump and rigged it to work on high at all times so this may be part of the issue

it's actually really common for the 97-00 GTs when they are supercharged the stock single speed GT pump can not put out enough fuel and wiring it in proper is a pain. and actually a speed shop installed the pump

the 01+ cars all used the same single speed pump for both boosted and N/A

well the interior of the car is now gutted and the wiring is pulled out as the power wire is grounding some ware.

i hate electrical i suspect it's the fuse box i have been having a power drain for a wile going to back probe it and see if it's grounded there or the wire it's self

this whole adding in a toggle switch for the fuel pump is seeming like a better and better idea.....

the power wire that goes tot he fuse box

wile rewiring the the fuel pump i had a genius moment with hard break line

i shoved the break line through the bulkhead connector grommet ont he passenger side of the firewall then put the wire through the break line then shrink wrapped the 2 ends of the break line to keep out water

sooo much easier then trying to shove the wire through and now no risk of the wire getting cut on the fire wall again

i will post pictures tomorrow when the sun is out
